Our sermon, based on Jeremiah 31:31–34, reflects on God’s promise of a new covenant, a faith written on our hearts, and the forgiveness and grace God freely offers. As we celebrate the Reformation, we are reminded that God continues to renew us in faith and love.

🧵❤️ GOD'S WORK. OUR HANDS. — ONE STITCH AT A TIME! ❤️🧵

What a wonderful day of fellowship, creativity, learning, and laughter at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stephens City, Virginia!

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, we held our very first sewing class, welcoming 10 participants who came together to learn new skills, share smiles, and enjoy time with one another.

Under the wonderful guidance of our instructor, Jacquetta Owen from Stevens City United Methodist Church, everyone had the opportunity to learn hands-on sewing skills while creating their very own pillows and coasters to take home. Participants also began working on pincushions!

Each participant received a sewing kit and a certificate celebrating their accomplishments.

But this class was about so much more than sewing. It was about building friendships, encouraging one another, sharing knowledge, and reminding each person that they are capable of learning something new.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Jacquetta for sharing her time, patience, and talents, and to everyone who participated and helped make this first class such a success!

At Trinity Lutheran Church, we believe that outreach isn't always about what we give. Sometimes it's about what we teach, what we share, and the confidence we help someone discover within themselves.

God's Work. Our Hands. One Stitch at a Time. 🧵❤️

Join us for worship at Trinity Lutheran Church as we gather in faith through Scripture, music, prayer, and Holy Communion.
In this week’s Gospel from Matthew 22:15–22, Jesus reminds us to “Give to God the things that are God’s.” We are invited to reflect on what belongs to God, how we live out our faith, and how we offer our time, talents, and resources in service to others.
Through the prophet Isaiah, the songs of praise in Psalm 96, and Paul’s words to the Thessalonians, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness and our calling to share the good news through lives of faith, love, and hope.
Rev. Larry Closter leads worship, with music from our congregation and special musical offerings. Today’s Noisy Offering will benefit Shirley’s Angels Animal Rescue, supporting their work caring for animals in need.
Worship begins at 9:30 AM.
Whether you are joining us from home or worshiping with us in person, you are welcome!

Join us for worship at Trinity Lutheran Church as we gather around God’s Word, music, prayer, and Holy Communion.
This week, Jesus tells a parable about a wedding banquet where “everything is ready” and the invitation is extended far and wide. Through Matthew 22:1–14, we are reminded of God’s abundant grace and the invitation to come to the table, receive God’s love, and share that welcome with others.
We’ll hear God’s promises of comfort and hope through Isaiah, rejoice in the Lord’s presence from Psalm 23, and reflect on Paul’s encouragement to focus on what is true, honorable, pure, and worthy of praise.
Rev. Larry Closter leads worship and proclaims the Word, with music from the Trinity Choir and our congregation.
Whether you are joining us from home or worshiping with us in person, you are welcome at the table!

On behalf of our Social outreach Team, Thank you to all that have helped in this effort... more to come 🥰. Check out the VA Synod ELCA post below !

When grocery and gas bills stretch a family’s budget, a local food pantry can help make ends meet. This summer, Virginia Synod congregations came together through Pasta with a Purpose and donated 16,169.45 pounds of food to local pantries—🥫the equivalent of approximately 13,475 meals. Every congregation that took part helped make that possible.

Now, let’s build on what we accomplished together. Bishop Phyllis Milton and the Virginia Synod Hunger Task Force invite you to a virtual gathering on Wednesday, October 14, from 4 to 5pm. 💻

We’ll celebrate the campaign’s impact, 🍝🥫announce the three top donating congregations who are receiving the $250 grants, and share practical ways your congregation can care for neighbors facing hunger during the upcoming holiday season and throughout the year.

Check out all the details and register to receive the Zoom link on the Virginia synod's website or the link in our bio. 🔗

🐾❤️ PAWS OF LOVE ❤️🐾

Celebrating St. Francis of Assisi

Throughout October, Trinity invites you to celebrate the beloved pets who have touched our lives while helping animals in need. 🐶🐱🐾

Inspired by the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and the tradition of the Blessing of the Animals, our Paws of Love Tree offers a special way to remember and honor the furry companions who hold a place in our hearts.

🐾 Add your pet to the tree!
Write your dog or cat’s name on a paw and add it to our tree. Whether your pet is still by your side or forever in your heart, we want to celebrate their special place in your life. Paws are available at the table, and you’re welcome to take one home and return it when it’s ready.

🐶 Help a pet in need!
Throughout October, we’ll be collecting pet food and monetary donations to support:

🐾 Dakota's Dream Animal Rescue
🐾 Shirley's Angels Animal Rescue Auction Sale to benefit the rescue dogs
You may also make a donation in memory of a beloved pet who has passed away. ❤️

Every paw has a story. Every pet deserves to be remembered. 🌈🐾

Let’s fill our tree with paws, memories, and love—and help share that love with animals in need!
