Caravanserai Music Our mission is to promote compassion and community through musical performance. We believe in the power of music to unite and heal. Here’s how we do it:

1.

Caravanserai brings people together through shared emotional connection to classical music by providing equitable access to classical music for families with young children and vulnerable communities. We believe in promoting empathy through listening to classical music and listening to others in need. The emotional empathy inspired by music helps us see more similarity between us and others so we

are more likely to act compassionately towards each other. Making concerts affordable and relatable in a child-friendly format with free admissions for children and free child-care in order to include the whole family

2. Performing classical music that emphasizes diverse emotional content and is relatable to listeners of different backgrounds

3. Supplementing public school music education by promoting shared music appreciation as a common ground, allowing young people to identify with others that might seem different from themselves

4. Creating collaborations between local professional musicians and other performing/visual artists that share a passion for extending the influence of the arts

5. Building relationships between performers and audiences through a shared emotional response to classical music as a common experience in order to build community

We were delighted to perform at the “We Are Waynesboro” festival hosted by Waynesboro Public Schools! We presented music from Ukraine, Norway, Germany, France, and Ireland.
