We are excited to welcome Ramond Curtis as the new Executive Director for The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center! Ramond brings experience in policy, advocacy, and nonprofit leadership, alongside a commitment to this region and its people. Following a thorough and thoughtful search, we are confident in Ramond's ability to lead the Center with care, strengthen our work, and continue to build meaningful relationships throughout the Valley.

Come meet Ramond at Staunton Pride! This Saturday, October 17, from 12-5 pm, Ramond and our Board of Directors will be attending and look forward to connecting with our community.

As we welcome Ramond, we offer our deepest gratitude to AnhThu Nguyen for her leadership, dedication,and care for the Center and the people it serves. Her work has helped build a strong foundation for this nextchapter, and we are grateful for all she has contributed to our community. Ramond and AnhThu will work together throughout the remainder of October during a handover period to support a thoughtful transition.

To our community: thank you for your patience, trust, and continued engagement throughout this search. We know how much the Center means to so many people, and we approached this decision with that responsibility at heart. Your participation, generosity, and care sustain this work and will continue to shape its

Our next Community Health Clinic is October 20th from 12-4pm! Please call 540-245-7914 to schedule an appointment in advance.

Whether you need an affirming primary care check-up, want to learn more about PrEP, or need a HRT refill, Augusta Health clinicians will be available at our Community Health Clinic. No insurance needed. Limited walk-in appointments may be available, with registration closing at 3 pm.

As a reminder, our community space is open for drop-in hours as well during clinic! Browse our clothes closet, q***r resource library, or grab some snacks from our kitchen.

We're launching a new initiative during Pride this year! 🎉

The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center's Mutual Aid Corner has been running low and we want to get it restocked! Some of our most needed items are listed here. Bring a donation to Pride and get a Pride Quest Guide! 🏳️‍🌈

The Guide will have a list of items and booths to check out through out the festival - like checking your voter registration, meeting some of our mutual aid vendors, stopping by a q***r-owned vendor, watching a performance and more!

Once you have completed the guide, bring it back to our HQ/Merch Booth and be entered into a raffle to win a merch bundle!! 🎊

🎉DONATION SPOTLIGHT! 🎉

Many many thanks to our beloved Pufferbellies Toys & Books. Not only did they brave a very busy QCMM to bring joy to the nearly 40,000 visitors in Staunton -- they donated a whopping 15% of sales from the weekend. Nearly $6,000 in support of our Center's mission, programs, and advocacy.

Want to learn more about Pufferbellies? They are a family-owned toy store located in the historic Wharf District. They opened their doors in 2006 and have been joyfully serving the children and families in our community ever since. https://pufferbelliestoys.com/
