🤝 Connecting Across Snohomish County!

Tonight, Kris and Brandy from the Stanwood Commerce Alliance, along with Aaron from the City of Stanwood, had the opportunity to attend the Summer Networking event put on by the Economic Alliance Snohomish County and the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce at the beautiful Feather Ballroom in Snohomish.

It was a great evening connecting with business leaders, community partners, and professionals from throughout Snohomish County, strengthening relationships and representing Stanwood in conversations happening across our region.

Events like this are a great reminder of how valuable collaboration is—not only within our own community, but throughout Snohomish County as a whole.

Thank you to Economic Alliance Snohomish County and the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a wonderful evening. We enjoyed making new connections, catching up with familiar faces, and sharing all of the exciting things happening in Stanwood! 💙

🏡 Hometown Highlights: Did You Know?

Long before Stanwood became the community we know today, it was actually two separate towns - East Stanwood and West Stanwood!

West Stanwood developed along the Stillaguamish River, where river and steamboat transportation helped the community grow. As transportation changed and the railroad arrived farther east, a second business district began developing around the new rail connection. That community eventually became known as East Stanwood and was incorporated separately from West Stanwood.

For decades, the two towns existed side by side, each with its own businesses, community identity, and local government. It wasn't until 1960 that residents voted to consolidate West Stanwood and East Stanwood into one city—the Stanwood we call home today!

You can still see pieces of this history in the layout of our community, including our two distinct historic business districts. It's a reminder that Stanwood's story has always been shaped by growth, change, and neighbors coming together. ❤️

We love looking back at the history that helped shape our hometown!

🎶☀️ That’s a Wrap on STANFEST! ☀️🎶

What an incredible summer! Our final STANFEST of the season is officially in the books, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to close it out. A huge thank you to Saltwater Sky for bringing the energy and giving Stanwood an amazing final show! 🎸

STANFEST wouldn’t be possible without the businesses and organizations that invest in our community.
