Farewell, Session 2! 👋

Thank you to all of the students, guest artists, assistants, residents and staff who made this session such a joy! ❤️

And a huge thank you to for sponsoring this unique session! It was so exciting to watch artists across our many studios using Bullseye glass in so many creative ways, from fusing, casting, engraving and more. Artists were even able to melt Bullseye in a small furnace, built this year by our incredible studio techs, to blow Bullseye in the hot shop! 🔥

Last night we had the great joy of honoring Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen and Kathy Alvord Gerlich at our biennial donor event Pilchuck Celebrates, hosted by Chihuly Garden and Glass! 🎉

We were thrilled to award Karen with the 2026 Libenský-Brychtová Award and Kathy with the 2026 Patron of the Arts Award. We hope you will join us in congratulating and celebrating these two amazing women for their impact on the glass art community and their inspiring dedication to Pilchuck.

Summer Program has officially begun! This year we expanded our program from six to eight sessions, which means we will welcome more students to campus than ever before!

In order to fully support our expanded programming, we need to make crucial upgrades to our historic campus. Please consider making a gift to help us meet our goal of $127,000 by June 11, 2026.
 To make everyone’s experience on campus the best that it can be, we are making necessary upgrades to our studios, including replacing our electric furnace, “George,” and installing new heaters in the Studio Building.

Your support makes this possible. We thank you for your generosity and shared belief in the value Pilchuck brings to our community.

In early May, some of our year-round staff and board members had the pleasure of joining Chihuly Studio in Venice to celebrate the opening of “CHIHULY: Venice 2026.”

Our Executive Director Donna Davies, Artistic Director Michael Endo and Director of Development Kate Speck were honored to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dale Chihuly’s landmark exhibition in Venice and to reflect on and celebrate the importance Venice has played in Chihuly’s work. The hallmarks of teamwork in glassblowing that he observed in Venice formed his vision for Pilchuck. This new exhibition represents a new chapter in the unique and ongoing relationship between Chihuly, Pilchuck Glass School, and Venice.

If you have the chance to visit, we hope that you enjoy this spectacular exhibition and join us in reflecting on Chihuly’s important legacy. “CHIHULY: Venice 2026” will be on view until November 14, 2026.
