📣This may be the most amazing announcement our rescue has EVER made! 📣
🎉 After waiting for 3 years, 3 months, and 6 days- MILKSHAKE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🎉
Milkshake, who had been dealt one bad deck cards after another, is now the luckiest girl in the world with her new mom, Kate! A dog who was born into a dog fighting ring and passed over on adoptions for years now lives the plush life (and we mean PLUSH—like—pottery barn blankets just for her PLUSH).
Thank you to the foster homes who supported Milkshake up to this point and to all of our friends who shared her posts! We are SO grateful to all of you, SO thankful for Kate, and SO excited for Milkshake!

Meet Oatly! She’s potty trained, crate trained, and loves having her own cozy space to relax with a bone or toy. She’s non-destructive in her foster home, keeps herself entertained, and absolutely loves being outside. She’s also food motivated and eager to learn!
She’s been friendly and polite meeting strangers, dogs, and older children, and she’s happiest when she’s close to her people.
Oatly still has some puppy-like energy and would thrive in a patient, structured home that can continue helping her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be!

It can be shocking to realize that dog fighting still happens right here in St. Louis. Even this month, we’ve been advocating for a local group of dogs believed to be victims; we’ve been making sure they get the medical and behavioral care they urgently need. We’ve already covered testing for Babesia (a serious disease spread by ticks or through dog-fighting), and now we’re working to fund treatment for dogs who tested positive.
Your donation helps cover critical veterinary diagnostics and treatment for dogs like these who have survived the unimaginable. The first $2500 we receive today will be matched by Purina. The first $640 we receive between 12-5 pm will be matched by an individual donor!

When our director met Samba in a local shelter, she immediately knew he was going to be an Even Chance dog. Despite battling painful ear infections, a spider bite, and chronic allergy issues causing significant hair loss, Samba is the happiest, most loving boy you could meet. He’s goofy, resilient, and could be the mascot for chaos. We love him.
Samba has received extensive veterinary care, including appointments with a dermatology specialist to make sure he gets the best treatment possible. As you can imagine, this all comes with a high cost and we receive no government funding—we are solely funded by donors like you.
We’re committed to doing whatever it takes for him… we just can’t do it alone.

Some Even Chance foster dogs stay with us for years. Not because they’re unwanted, but because we’re committed to finding the perfect fit for them. Milkshake (pictured) has been waiting for over 3 years, but we have a feeling this year is going to finally be her year!
