This , stay informed so you can stay prepared.

When an overdose happens, knowing what signs point to what substances can help you respond quickly and save a life. ❤️‍🩹

Know the Signs. Save a Life.

Today, for Overdose Prevention Week, SATAC and the OLRC would like to highlight a new resource developed to help you recognize and respond to an overdose.

Common signs include:

✅ Slow or stopped breathing
✅ Blue or gray lips and fingernails
✅ Unresponsiveness
✅ Gurgling or choking sounds
✅ Pinpoint pupils

If you suspect an overdose:

1. Call 911.
2. Administer naloxone if available.
3. Stay with the person until help arrives.

Quick action can save lives.

Have you completed an overdose response training? Let us know in the comments.

August is Substance Use Primary Prevention Month, and new back-to-school routines make this the perfect time to reconnect with the young people in your life.

Prevention is working. More than 2/3 of youth don't use substances (2025 NSDUH). That's not luck, that's prevention happening in homes, schools, and communities every day.

Today is , and it's the perfect opportunity to highlight the YPRC Youth Advisory Board's recent retreat! ⭐️

This past weekend, YAB members came together to dig into Youth Voices in Prevention: the factors that help prevent or delay substance use, the pressures adults don't always see, and their own ideas for what could make a difference for young people.

They also brainstormed ways to bring peers into prevention work that are relatable, interactive, and youth-driven. Those conversations will shape YAB's projects all year.
