Great job Sheriff Heuerman!

We are proud to announce that Champaign County Sheriff Dustin Heuerman has been appointed by Governor JB Pritzker to serve on two statewide boards that help shape the future of public safety and criminal justice in Illinois.

🔹 Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB)
Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional training and certification standards for law enforcement and correctional officers throughout Illinois.

🔹 Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) (pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate)
Works to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and fairness of Illinois' criminal justice system through research, policy development, planning, and grant administration.

“These appointments provide an opportunity to contribute to important conversations about public safety and criminal justice across our state,” Sheriff Heuerman said. “I look forward to using my education, experience, and perspective to collaborate with others who have a similar passion for making the criminal justice system better both locally and throughout Illinois.”

Both appointments are effective immediately.
