🚨 MANDATORY VOLUNTEER MEETING 🚨

The countdown to the 2026 Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Italian Feast is on, and it’s time to bring everyone together.

This is a mandatory meeting for all Feast volunteers. Whether you’ve already signed up to volunteer, or are still thinking about helping, we ask that you attend. We’ll review final preparations, volunteer assignments, schedules, and everything you need to know to make this year’s Feast a success.

There is still room for more volunteers, so if you’d like to be part of one of Springfield’s greatest traditions, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved.

Many hands make light work. We look forward to seeing everyone Monday at 6:00 PM! 🇮🇹❤️

Join us at Casa Italiana for our First Annual Festa di San Ciro Dinner as we honor St. Ciro, the beloved protector of Atena Lucana — a town from which many Springfield Italian families trace their roots.

🇮🇹 NEW! Italian Language Classes for Children (Ages 4–12) 🇮🇹

The Sons & Daughters of Italy are excited to introduce introductory Italian language classes for children, designed to build a foundation in the Italian language while celebrating culture, heritage, and tradition.

🗓 Class Schedule
• Starting Saturday, February 7th
• Eight (8) consecutive Saturday classes
• 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
• Beginner / introductory level

💰 Cost
• FREE for children or grandchildren of Sons & Daughters of Italy members
• Not a member? Annual membership is only $100
• Non-members may enroll children for $150 total for all 8 classes

📸 A Look Back at South End History – circa 1940 ⚽

This incredible photo shows the Mt. Carmel CYO Boys Soccer Team, taken nearly 85 years ago. A group of young men representing faith, family, and the proud Italian neighborhood of the South End—wearing their Mt. Carmel jerseys with pride.

While we don’t yet have all the names of everyone in the photo, we know what they stood for: community, tradition, discipline, and brotherhood. If you recognize a face, know a name, or have a family connection to this team, we would love for you to share it in the comments. These stories deserve to be remembered.

We are incredibly proud to be bringing back the Mt. Carmel soccer tradition today—reviving yet another piece of South End history thanks to the efforts of the Sons and Daughters of Italy and our partners at Casa Italiana. This isn’t just soccer—it’s legacy.

From our grandfathers’ generation to today’s players, Mt. Carmel soccer lives on.

⚽ Exciting News for Our Italian Community! 🇮🇹

The Springfield Sons and Daughters of Italy and Casa Italiana are proud to announce that we are officially sponsoring a men’s soccer team — and we are thrilled to introduce the Mount Carmel Soccer Team!

The Mount Carmel soccer team is the back-to-back Champions of the Pioneer Valley Summer Soccer League. This talented group of players—many of whom are members of our Italian Club—are proud to call Casa Italiana home for the 2026 season and beyond.

We are especially excited to revive a beloved tradition from years past: the historic Mt. Carmel Men’s Soccer Team, once proudly played by so many of our fathers and grandfathers. This is more than a team—it is a continuation of legacy, heritage, and community pride.

Stay tuned to this page as we introduce the players, share the summer schedule, and announce special events surrounding our very own soccer team.
