Union Capital is thrilled to announce that Lashaunda Watson has officially started as our new Union Capital Director of Boston!

Lashaunda joined Union Capital as a member back in 2020 as a part of our partnership with Higher Ground Boston. She soon became a Network Coordinator and has been a founding participant, trainer, and facilitator of our Leadership Training programs. Lashaunda has spent her career working in social services and with organizations that collaborate with Union Capital, including Compass Working Capital, the Mel King Institute, Mass Union of Public Housing Tenants, and most recently with Just A Start.

Lashaunda brings a deep experience and connection with our mission, members, and communities. Most importantly, she hasn't just "talked the talk", she has "walked the walk" of our UCB member and leadership experience.

🗳️ UCS MEMBERS! LET’S SHOW UP AND VOTE!

Your voice matters, and voting is one of the most powerful ways to use it. Make a plan, bring a friend, and make sure your voice is heard!

Important UCS reminder: Members do NOT earn points for the act of voting. Your vote is private, personal, and never tied to UCS rewards.

You CAN earn points for eligible civic engagement activities, including:

✅ Volunteering at the polls
✅ Providing rides to and from the polls
✅ Helping with voter registration
✅ Phone banking or canvassing
✅ Participating in approved nonpartisan voter outreach
✅ Attending other eligible community events listed in the UCS app

Please check the app for approved opportunities and point amounts before participating.

Vote because your voice matters. Volunteer because your community needs you. Help someone get to the polls because access matters. Let’s build social capital while helping our neighbors make their voices heard! 💪🏽

Fun fact: 70% of our members showed up at the polls last elections.
