What does being a good neighbor look like in action?

For State Farm, it includes supporting the volunteer firefighters who answer the call in communities across Illinois.

Through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council are helping resource-constrained volunteer fire departments purchase critical equipment. Illinois recipients have included the Shoal Creek Fire Protection District, Midland Fire Protection District, Wi******er Volunteer Fire Department, Lisbon-Seward Fire Protection District and the Village of New Haven Fire Department.

In New Haven, funding helped secure portable radios, flashlights and a 4-gas monitor, equipment that has improved communication, visibility, air monitoring and firefighter safety during emergency responses.

Throughout October, we’re proud to feature State Farm as ILHIC’s Amplify the Good member and share what being a good neighbor looks like in action.

In recognition of Life Insurance Awareness Month, ILHIC's President recently shared why planning for the unexpected matters for Illinois families in a letter published by the Chicago Sun-Times.

In 2024 alone, life insurers paid $5.62 billion in benefits to Illinois families, helping provide financial security when it was needed most.

September is a great time to start the conversation, review your coverage and consider whether your family’s financial safety net is prepared for the future.
