The Abundant Harvest

The Abundant Harvest We are a community food pantry in Spring, TX, serving families across Montgomery County. Together, we can do great things!

We provide nutritious food with dignity, organization, and care to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Abundant Harvest Food Pantry was founded to meet a growing need for reliable food assistance in Montgomery County. What began as a community outreach connected to St. Isidore Church quickly grew into a dedicated food pantry focused on providing consistent, respectful support to famil

ies facing food insecurity. Our work started in 2017 as a mobile food pantry, responding directly to the needs of families impacted by Hurricane Harvey. By bringing food directly into affected neighborhoods, we were able to reach households that had limited access to traditional food resources. During the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for food assistance increased dramatically. In response, Abundant Harvest scaled its operations and distributed nearly one million pounds of food, ensuring families had access to essential groceries during a time of widespread uncertainty. Today, Abundant Harvest Food Pantry continues this mission by serving thousands of families each month through our pantry services and community food distributions. Our focus remains on providing dependable food access, reducing barriers, and supporting individuals and families throughout Spring, Conroe, The Woodlands, New Caney, and surrounding areas of Montgomery County. Our story is not just about food; it’s about reliable, practical support for people in our community facing real challenges. We are committed to serving with dignity, transparency, and consistency every day.

This past Sunday, our Director, Jack Carrel, had the opportunity to meet with The National Charity League, Inc., Texas Laurels Chapter in The Woodlands at Trinity Episcopal Church to share more about The Abundant Harvest, our mission, and the work we do to serve our neighbors in Montgomery County.

We are excited and grateful to share that National Charity League, Inc., Texas Laurels Chapter will be working with The Abundant Harvest as part of their philanthropy project this year! We look forward to partnering with them and seeing all the ways we can work together to make a difference in our community.

Thank you to The NCL Laurels Chapter for choosing to support The Abundant Harvest and for investing in the work we do. Together, we can do great things! 🧡

Millions of people have lost access to SNAP since January 2025, representing a significant decline in the number of people receiving food assistance.

Behind every number is a person or family who may now have fewer resources to put food on the table. For food pantries and community organizations, changes like these are felt directly in the communities we serve.

We encourage our elected representatives and community leaders to understand what declining SNAP participation means for the people they represent. SNAP plays an important role in helping families access food, and its impact reaches far beyond the individuals who receive it.

These aren’t just statistics. They are our neighbors. 🧡

Since H.R. 1 was enacted in July 2025, approximately 5.5 million people have lost SNAP. Since January 2025, SNAP participation has declined by approximately 6.3 million people.

These are real people losing access to food assistance they rely on.

🚨 WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! 🚨

With the school year starting, volunteer availability is changing, and we are facing a serious shortage of volunteers for our upcoming pantry shifts. We need volunteers TODAY, NEXT WEEK, and throughout the coming weeks to help us continue serving our neighbors. 🧡 We also have an immediate need for volunteers THIS SATURDAY. If you can give a few hours, we would love to have you join us!

We’re so grateful for the groups and individuals who continue to show up for our community, like the LDS group pictured here. Your time and dedication make it possible for us to keep our pantry running and serve the families who count on us.

If you can help, please sign up to volunteer and share this post with someone who may be able to join us.

Together, we can do great things! 🧡

SNAP is more than a food benefit, it is an important part of the support system for families and communities. When people lose access to SNAP, they can face greater difficulty putting food on the table, while local communities also lose the federal dollars that SNAP brings into grocery stores and local economies.

We encourage our community leaders and elected representatives to understand the importance of SNAP and the impact it has on the people they serve. Strong communities depend on families having reliable access to food. Let’s keep the conversation going and make sure our leaders understand why SNAP matters. 🧡

When SNAP participation declines, families lose access to food, communities lose federal dollars, and local economies suffer. Congress can take action to reverse the harm and strengthen SNAP. https://secure.everyaction.com/76ItkRZL70ae1ApG7NWaVQ2

Past Friday, we had the opportunity to welcome the Montgomery County Food Bank to The Abundant Harvest and meet Mark Welch, their new Vice President of Operations and Impact.

We spent time talking about what’s happening at our pantry, the needs we’re seeing in our community, and the work that goes into getting food where it’s needed most.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, share, and learn more from each other as we continue serving our neighbors across Montgomery County. 🧡
