We’re excited to share the recent feature on WDTN-TV’s Living Dayton highlighting the incredible impact of the Warriors In Step with Horses (WISH) Program on the veterans we serve.

WISH is an equine-assisted counseling program designed to support veterans through connection, mindfulness, and the healing power of horses. We’re honored to provide a safe and supportive environment where veterans can build community, reduce stress, and reconnect with themselves.

To learn more about our WISH program for veterans, join us this Saturday, May 30th from 10-12 for our upcoming Open House. Tour the farm, meet the horses, learn about veteran programming, and see firsthand how equine-assisted services are changing lives.

Today, we pause. We remember those who gave everything -- whose sacrifice made possible the freedoms we hold and the community we cherish. To the fallen, and to the families who carry their memory forward, we are grateful 🇺🇸

We’re excited to share this recent story by Kiersten Riedford from WDTN-TV on TRI's adaptive riding and Stable Foundations programs highlighting the incredible impact horses can have on growth, learning, and emotional wellness. ❤️🐴

At TRI, we’re proud to offer programs like our new Stable Foundations program-an unmounted, non-riding horsemanship experience designed to help participants build confidence, connection, and life skills from the ground up. Through grooming, leading, and hands-on horse care, participants develop meaningful relationships with horses while strengthening skills like patience, empathy, self-awareness, responsibility, focus, and communication.

Working with horses can provide so many powerful benefits:
✨ Increased confidence and self-esteem
✨ Improved attention, focus, and impulse control
✨ Better body and spatial awareness
✨ Emotional regulation and mindfulness
✨ Stronger communication and social skills
✨ A sense of purpose, accomplishment, and connection

Research even shows that interacting with horses may help reduce stress and anxiety while increasing feelings of connection and well-being.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to continue expanding programs that help individuals learn, heal, and grow alongside our incredible horses. Be sure to check out the story! 🐎💙

A huge THANK YOU to PNC Bank for joining TRI’s Stetsons & Sterling as the inaugural sponsor of our brand new “Mane Event Midway!” 🤠🐴

This exciting area of the gala will be packed with some of the most fun and engaging experiences of the night, including our Silent Auction, Boots & Bottles Booze Pull, and additional interactive activities that help raise critical funds for TRI’s mission.

While these experiences create energy and excitement for our guests, they also play an incredibly important role in supporting TRI’s programs and the individuals we serve. Every bid placed, bottle pulled, and activity enjoyed helps provide high-quality, accredited equine-assisted services in a safe, fun, and compassionate environment.

Because of partners like PNC Bank, TRI is able to continue enhancing lives through Adaptive Riding, WISH for veterans and first responders, Taking the Reins counseling, and EAGLE programming for youth.

We are so grateful for PNC Bank’s support and partnership in helping make Stetsons & Sterling an unforgettable night with meaningful impact. From our herd to yours, thank you for helping our mission gallop forward! 💙

This weekend, a few members of our TRI team made a trip up to Holland, Michigan to attend PATH International’s Region 4 conference. Not only was this trip beneficial to furthering our teams knowledge of the industry, but our very own Stephanie Slepicka made an incredible presentation on the newly developed De-Escalation training curriculum she has developed specifically for volunteers in the equine-assisted services setting. We are so proud of Stephanie for continuing to set a high standard of excellence for volunteer management and training - which is now being recognized industry wide.

Thank you to our friends at Renew Therapeutic Riding Center and PATH International for hosting us and continuing to provide meaningful education and networking opportunities for our team! 🐴⭐️📚

Our miniature horses serve a different but equally important role at TRI. They're essential to our unmounted programs, where participants engage with horses through grooming, leading, and ground activities rather than riding.

Banner is calm, gentle, and deeply empathetic, offering a quiet presence that helps participants feel at ease. When he's with Stewart, his playful personality shines through.

Stewart Little is confident and engaging, with a curiosity and energy that connects quickly with participants. His interactions encourage connection, smiles, and engagement in ways that matter just as much as what happens in the saddle.

Together, they're a dynamic duo. And they're proof that equine-assisted services don't always require riding.
