These are just a few examples of how we can all play a part to make a difference in the foster care system. Not everyone is led to do the same thing, but we can all do something!

We continually want to advocate not only for those aging out of the foster care system, but also for the many children still waiting for safe, healthy, and loving foster homes.
The need can feel overwhelming, and the statistics can seem daunting, but real change happens when individuals, churches, and communities choose to step in and care.
What can you personally do to help?
What could your church or community do to make a difference?
Whether it’s becoming a foster parent, supporting a foster family, mentoring a young adult, providing resources, or simply raising awareness, every person has a role to play. Together, we can help create stability, support, and hope for vulnerable children and youth.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for our event on Sunday. Thank you to Kirkmont Church for being such a gracious and welcoming host, and to Montgomery County Children Services for being present, sharing helpful information, and connecting with those who wanted to learn more.
Most of all, we want to thank the incredible individuals who courageously shared their stories; experiences of foster care, emancipation, and fostering and adoption. Your voices brought truth, depth, and humanity to an issue that is often only seen through statistics.
Attached are photos of some informational cards we handed out. As you can see, the need is great with so many children are still waiting for safe, loving families. But what’s equally clear is this: there are just as many ways for each of us to step in and make a difference.
Whether it’s fostering, supporting a foster family, mentoring, or simply helping raise awareness, everyone has a role to play.
Let’s continue to be part of the solution.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month. Currently in the United States there are nearly 332,000 kids in foster care; around 70,000 of which are waiting to be adopted.
How can you, your community, your family, your church be a part of the solution?

What if the solution to foster care in our community isn’t “someone else”… but us?
Right now, there are children in our area who need safe homes, support, and people who will simply show up and stay. And there are young adults who have aged out of foster care carrying stories of resilience, but also gaps that never should have been there.
We talk a lot about loving our neighbors. This is one of the clearest ways we can live that out. There is a place for you in this story.
We hope you will join us for this event where we will not only hear stories of those who have experienced foster care, but also ways we can actually come together to make a true difference.

Just one week away!
If you’re local, we would love for you to join us for this powerful and eye-opening event.

We often hear the statistics surrounding foster care and youth who age out of the system, but numbers only tell part of the story. There is something deeply impactful about hearing real people share their lived experiences.

The needs surrounding foster care and emancipated youth are complex, like a giant puzzle. And we truly believe each of us has a unique piece to offer, whether you’re a community member, part of a church, or a local business.

Come listen. Come learn. Come be part of the solution.

We would be honored to have you join us, and we invite you to share this event with others who may not yet be aware of these needs.
Please RSVP so we can plan to provide a light dessert.

Some eye opening statistics…
In 2025 Ohio had 1,328 youth emancipate out of foster care, which was among some of the highest numbers in the country.
83.5% of the children who enter foster care after the age of 12 typically age out.
In Ohio there are currently roughly 16,000 kids in foster care, approximately 3,300 are waiting to be adopted, and 1,000 of those are teens.
While statistics can teach us a lot, hearing stories can change our hearts. We would love to have you join us for this upcoming event, where adults who emancipated out of foster care and a long time foster parent will share their stories and experiences.

Local friends- we would love to have you join us for this free and valuable event where you will have the opportunity to hear stories and experiences from adults who emancipated from the foster care system. Shared stories is one of the most powerful ways we can learn and grow in our understanding, and we pray this event will bring greater awareness to youth who age out of foster care.

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing group of skilled, smart, experienced, and talented guys who gave of their time today to make this project happen. The old wooden beam was removed (what wasn’t rotted will be kept and repurposed!) and the new steel beam was raised and put in place. It was a HUGE undertaking with lots of planning, discussing, measuring, more discussing, and more measuring. We are thankful for safety throughout the day and to be one big step closer to finishing this house.

The beautiful sounds of work taking place in the house again. 😁
The permit has been approved and it’s beam raising day!
