Day 4 — Report back to the home front.
We have emerged—briefly—from our respective camps.
At the appointed hour, all disciplines converged into a single hall for what can only be described as a summit of makers. Metalsmiths, clay workers, lapidaries, and beaders—each carrying the artifacts of their labor—assembled to present findings from the field.
The pieces on display defy imagination; quality undeniable; results… remarkable.
Silver, once raw and unassuming, now shaped into intricate forms by fire and patience. Stones, pulled from rough obscurity, revealed their hidden brilliance under steady hands. Clay, transformed from earth into structure and story. Beads—countless, deliberate—woven into patterns that speak their own language.
There was a moment—standing among them—where the scope of this place became clear. Each discipline working in isolation… yet all connected by the same quiet obsession to create and even colaborate.
Knowledge was exchanged. Techniques discussed. Inspiration… contagious.
Morale remains high.
Supplies still holding.
Fatigue… present, but ignored.
We return now to our stations, carrying new ideas gathered from the others. The work will continue into the night, as it has before.
To those back home: know that this expedition is yielding results. Not just in finished pieces—but in skill, perspective, and a deeper respect for the craft.
More to follow—if conditions allow.
And grateful to those who enabled us to be here.
