HAPPY WORLD BEE DAY 🐝

Bees and other pollinators are absolutely vital for life on Earth. They help pollinate around 75% of global food crops, including many of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds we rely on. Without pollinators moving pollen between flowers, many plants couldn’t reproduce — and ecosystems as we know them would begin to collapse.

But bees are under huge pressure from pesticide use, habitat destruction, climate change, and air pollution, all caused by human activity.

What we can all do to help:
🐝 Plant native wildflowers and pollinator-friendly plants
🐝 Stop using pesticides and harmful chemicals
🐝 Protect and restore wild spaces and natural habitats

Protecting bees isn’t just about protecting one species — it’s about protecting biodiversity, food systems, and the future of our planet. Every small action matters.

ANYTHING BUT FAIR FOR THE ANIMALS. The 2026 Pima County Fair (April 16–26) in Tucson, AZ is underway and is hosting a number of cruel animal acts. Horrifyingly, this year they’ve invited back Brunon Blaszak and his tigers. Blaszak claims his demeaning cat act is educational. A tiger walking a tightrope or performing other tricks does nothing to teach people about the intelligence, sentience, and communications of tigers, or how they live in the wild and what they need.

The Pima County Fair is also, once again, featuring Sea Lion Splash, pig races, pony rides, bird and reptile shows, and a petting zoo. Evidence shows that all species of animals suffer as a result of the constant travel, severe restrictions on movement, and unnatural lifestyle inherent in traveling animal acts.

These playful, intelligent animals perform tricks in three shows a day, seven days a week, fair after fair. This is not the life nature intended for any of these animals. Help us stop this suffering!

Avoid these animal encounters and shows and ask county fairs to no longer host wild animals acts like these. Please contact the Pima County Fair today!

TODAY IS WORLD CIRCUS DAY. An important reminder that not every circus cage is empty. YET.

Decades of investigations and research have provided our main conclusions – that animals in circuses experience a life of deprivation and brutality, no matter what the species.

Lions, tigers, elephants, bears, camels, zebras, and many other species are enduring year after year of confinement in small spaces, excessive amounts of time shut in transporters, and training that involves physical violence, screaming, shouting, and threats.

ADI won’t stop until this is a thing of the past and every cage is empty. Please help us stop circus suffering. Take action now so that one day no animals are forced to perform.

There’s more to spiders than most people realize.

A recent study from the University of Massachusetts Amherst found that nearly 90% of insect and arachnid species in North America have no conservation status, meaning scientists don’t know how they’re doing. Researchers say this gap leaves many species unmonitored and unprotected.

Experts say spiders and insects play key roles in ecosystems, from pollination to controlling pests. Without better tracking and protection, scientists warn their decline could have wider impacts on the environment.
