We are saddened to let everyone know that the Walk is being cancelled due to forecasted severe weather. Walk for Women will miss everyone but cannot take the risk of injuries or accidents because of the potential for lightening and flooding. The City Emergency Management Coordinator agrees with our decision.

See you next year and thank you for your continued support of our cause to provide financial assistance to women in the lower Rio Grande Valley as they bravely fight breast cancer! 💕

Because of you we have been able to give over $750,000 to women and families fighting this fight. And for that, we are forever grateful!

We’ve received a few phone calls about whether the Walk is still on for Sunday October 4 given the weather forecast. We are watching it along with the City Fire and Police Departments. We will be making a decision Friday or Saturday. Please watch this space as information will be posted here first.

Regarding a “rain date” - that won’t happen. We know from our planning and choosing this date that the venues we need will not be available, plus we have to get approval from TXDOT to close Padre Blvd lanes, which can take some time.

We wish we could reschedule if it’s necessary to cancel and will miss all of our supporters.

We appreciate any donations you might want to make at www.spiwalkforwomen.org.

T-shirts are at Whiskers n Things on the Island. So if you don’t make it to the walk or we do have to cancel, come back when the weather is nicer! The shirts will still be there.

We love you all!!!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2025 fund raising weekend. We had over 250 people attend our casino night and over 750 walkers!!! We did not expect such a fantastic turnout! Many thanks to our sponsors, donors, volunteers and attendees for making it such a successful weekend!
