We are pet friendly, we ask that all dogs stay off the boardwalk unless they are in a dog stroller. Over 3/4 mile of boardwalk over the Laguna Madre Bay coastal shoreline. 5 story observation tower, exhibit hall, auditorium with alligator exhibits, gift shop, and lobby. The SPI Birding Center was developed as a project of the South Padre Island Economic Development Corporation.

This past weekend we had a wonderful group of Girl Scouts working hard to earn their Animal Habitat Badge 🌱🐊🦉
They did a fantastic job exploring our native animal habitats, learning all there is to know about alligators and building their very own mini habitat dioramas. 💚
We are always so happy to host such motivated and bright scouts who love to learn all about how to protect our special ecosystems here in Texas. Can’t wait to see you all next month! 🐍🐢🪲

Yesterday evening was our very first Paint & Sip event and what a wonderful experience it was! Our fabulous guests painted beautiful variations of owls while enjoying the sunset on the boardwalk. Good morning RGV! We hope everyone is having a productive day! Here is a glimpse at our little project this morning! 🐊
This little 4 foot alligator in Laguna Vista found her way from a nearby pond into this swimming pool!
With the rain that we recently received, alligators may be on the move. It's important to stay mindful that we share this habitat with a wide variety of wildlife. The RGV is blessed with such a special ecosystem! But when situations like this arise, and the wildlife gets a liiiiittle too close for comfort, we are here to help!
