Valley Lodge No. 36 A.F.& A.M.

Valley Lodge No. 36 A.F.& A.M. A fraternal organization making good men better. To be one, ASK ONE! It is now our time to build a new history for Valley Lodge 36.

The history of Valley Lodge 36 is a short one, but based on the long history of St Marks 36, St Marks 91, and Hiram 98. 2009 marks our fifth year into the consolidation of the three lodges. Each member of this fraternity has something valuable to offer his Brother, and in doing so, we can strengthen each other as well as the craft.

A reminder with the heat to come for all to stay safe. Reach out and make sure your neighbors and family have what they need to stay cool!

🌡️ Heat Safety Reminder from Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association 🚑

With temperatures climbing, it's important to take extra precautions to protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors from heat-related illness.

☀️ Stay Safe in the Heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
⏰ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (10 AM–4 PM).
🧴 Use sunscreen and wear a hat if you're outside.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.

⚠️ Know the Warning Signs:
• Heavy sweating
• Dizziness or fainting
• Nausea
• Muscle cramps
• Confusion
• Hot, red skin or loss of consciousness

If someone is showing signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency. While waiting for help, move the person to a cooler location and try to cool them with cool water or wet towels.

❤️ Don't forget to check on older adults, young children, and anyone with medical conditions who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe!

Today, the Brothers of Valley Lodge No. 36 A.F.& A.M. extend our warmest wishes to all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who guide, support, and inspire those around them.

Fatherhood reflects many of the same values we strive to uphold in Freemasonry—integrity, compassion, patience, leadership, and service to others. We are grateful for the men who lead by example and help shape future generations through their love and dedication.

On this Father's Day, we celebrate all the fathers in our Lodge, our families, and our community. May your day be filled with happiness, appreciation, and time spent with those you love most.

Happy Father's Day!

🏆 🏆 🏆 At last nights' Simsbury High School Senior Awards Night:

"Freemasons strive to be men of good character - committed to self-improvement and to making a positive difference in the lives of others. We encourage one another to be better husbands, fathers, neighbors, and citizens.

One man who embodied those values was Paul D. Collier. He served as Simsbury’s Superintendent of Schools from 1928 to 1931 and later led our Lodge as Worshipful Master. In 1961, he became the Grand Master of Masons in Connecticut—the highest Masonic office in the state.

Mr. Collier’s life was a model of service, education, and leadership. In 1977, our lodge established the Paul D. Collier Masonic Scholarship in his honor, awarded each year to students who demonstrate strong academics, school and community involvement, and the kind of moral character that uplifts those around them.

This year’s award recipients exemplify each of these principles and we wish them well in their pursuits of their goals and dreams.

On behalf of the freemasons of Valley Lodge No. 36 A.F.& A.M., we are pleased to present the 2026 Paul D. Collier Masonic Scholarship, in the amount of $2,000 each, to:
Grace Gleason, Aiden Hope and Madelene Davis."

Congratulations 🎊 👏

A great day of fellowship and support as four Brothers from Valley Lodge No. 36 A.F.& A.M. crossed state lines to represent at The Meadows Lodge AF & AM annual scholarship golf event. The day began with strong winds and rain—so intense that a large tree branch came down and knocked out power to the facility—but perseverance paid off. The weather eventually cleared, giving way to a beautiful afternoon on the course.

We were honored to support a worthy cause, strengthen the bonds of Brotherly Love, and enjoy a memorable day with fellow Masons. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful event!

Great Architect of the Universe,

On this Memorial Day, we pause in solemn reflection to honor the brave men and women who laid down their lives in service to their country and fellow man.

May we never forget the sacrifices they made for the blessings of liberty, peace, and justice. Grant us grateful hearts for their courage, steadfast spirits to preserve the freedoms they defended, and wisdom to live lives worthy of their devotion.

As Masons, may we remember our duty to practice Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, cherishing the memory of those who served with honor and fidelity. Comfort the families of the fallen, strengthen those who continue to serve, and inspire all mankind toward unity and peace.

May the memory of the departed remain evergreen in our hearts, and may eternal light shine upon them.

So mote it be.
