Each year, SOAR! celebrates honorees for their lives of leadership and service. At the 40th Anniversary New York Awards Dinner on September 17, SOAR! will present two distinguished awards:

🏅 The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award recognizes individuals who, in the spirit of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, have demonstrated exceptional leadership and generosity in service to the Church.

🏅 The Father Victor Yanitelli Award honors a senior religious who reflects Father Victor Yanitelli's lifelong commitment to caring for others and supporting aging religious.

This year, we are proud to honor Bishop Edmund J. Whalen with the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award and Sister Patricia Wolf, RSM with the Father Victor Yanitelli Award.

SOAR! is proud to honor Bishop Edmund J. Whalen with the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award at the 2026 New York Awards Dinner on September 17.

Throughout his ministry as a priest, educator, pastor, seminary leader, and bishop, Bishop Whalen has served the Archdiocese of New York with faith, wisdom, and dedication. His recent appointment as Vicar General reflects a lifetime of leadership in service to the Church.

SOAR! is proud to honor Sister Patricia Wolf, RSM, with the Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ Award at the 2026 New York Awards Dinner on September 17.

A member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas whose ministry has spanned education, social justice, leadership, and service, Sister Patricia has dedicated her life to helping others live with dignity.

Among her many accomplishments is the vision that became Marian Woods, Inc., a retirement community for women religious. While serving as President of the Sisters of Mercy New York Regional Community, she recognized the need to provide compassionate, community-centered care for aging Sisters and helped bring that vision to life.

Today, Marian Woods stands as a testament to her foresight and commitment to ensuring that women religious can age with dignity, grace, and the support of community.

We look forward to celebrating Sister Patricia in September!

Congratulations to Cardinal Tobin on his ordination anniversary! Archdiocese of Newark

Happy Ordination Anniversary to Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., who was ordained to the priesthood on this day in 1978.

We thank God for Cardinal Tobin's 48 years of priestly ministry. From Detroit to Chicago, Rome to Indianapolis and now Newark, we are blessed by his leadership in our local diocese and the global Church.
