For more than six decades, Sister Patricia Wolf, RSM, has answered a call to serve, spending her life in ministry as a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, crisscrossing between education, justice work and administration.

This September, SOAR! will honor Sister Patricia with the Father Victor Yanitelli Award at our 40th Anniversary New York Awards Dinner.

Her life of service reflects the spirit of Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ, who devoted himself to the needs of aging religious and believed in the power of a life lived for others.

We look forward to celebrating Sister Patricia on September 17.

Since 1986, SOAR! has been helping aging Catholic Sisters, Brothers, and Priests get the support they need.

On September 17, we'll gather in New York City to celebrate four decades of this mission and the people who make it possible. We’ll also honor Bishop Edmund J. Whalen and Sister Patricia Wolf, RSM, and offer special thanks to Sister Kathleen Lunsmann, IHM.

The celebration of 40 years of SOAR! continues this fall — and your support is what makes our mission possible!

When you support the SOAR! 40th Anniversary New York Awards Dinner, you are supporting Catholic Sisters, Brothers, and Priests so that they can age with dignity and grace!

A working HVAC system. Accessible furniture. A safer way to get to medical appointments. These may seem like simple things, but for aging religious, they can make an extraordinary difference.

The story of SOAR! begins with a question - reporter John Fialka wanted to know what had become of the Sisters who had taught him in school.

His front-page article, “Sisters in Need: U.S. Nuns Face Crisis As More Grow Older With Meager Benefits,” appeared in The Wall Street Journal in 1986. The response was immediate and overwhelming. People from all walks of life were moved to help.

Today, we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of SOAR! And we’re so grateful to YOU. Your generosity continues to ensure religious women and men can age with dignity and grace. Thank you for being part of the SOAR! story.
