What a way to kick off !
The American Nurses Association’s Minority Fellowship Program family is out in full force in Phoenix this week for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s 40th Annual Conference, and opening night set the tone in the best way.
Please join us in congratulating two of our outstanding MFP alumni, Dr. Eunice Adu, MSN APRN PMHNP-BC Adu, DNP and Marcus D. Henderson, MSN, RN, FNAP, PhD Candidate, on being named APNA Board of Directors Student Scholars! Selected from hundreds of applicants, they join a select group of students recognized as exceptional emerging leaders in psychiatric-mental health nursing. Their dedication to the field makes us incredibly proud, and we can’t wait to see where this next chapter of mentorship and leadership development takes them.
It was a joy to see so many fellows, alumni, mentors, and staff together celebrating, connecting, and representing the ANA MFP on a national stage.
And we’re just getting started! We look forward to an exciting week ahead, culminating as our very own Principal Investigator and APNA President-Elect, Dr. Eugenia Flores Millender PhD, RN, PMHNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, steps into her role as President of APNA.
From emerging scholars to national leadership, the ANA MFP continues to shape the future of behavioral health nursing. We’re proud of every journey that brought us here, and inspired by the ones still unfolding.
Could your journey be next? Applications for the 2027–2028 ANA MFP cohort open November 4. If you’re a nurse committed to advancing behavioral health and serving communities with significant unmet needs, stay tuned. We’d love to see you join the MFP family.
