We would love to give a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in Critical Mass 14! 🎉

We had over 100 artists participate across visual, performance, and literary categories, and critics were blown away by the talent and dedication of NWLA artists!

Critical Mass isn't just a chance for professional critics to review local work, it's also a competition. One artist was selected from each category to be awarded $5,000.

🏆And the winners are...

Visual: Ellen Soffer 🎨
Literary: Mary Striegel 📖
Performance: Poetess Lady Munira 🎭

All three of these artists will produce their own solo show, which will be presented next year at Critical Mass 15! We can't wait to see what they create! ✨

Critical Mass 14 will be on display at artspace until August 7th, along with the solo shows of the winners from last year: Irene Gallion (visual) and Rebecca Macijeski (literary). Stop by artspace during regular hours to see this truly brilliant work!

Tomorrow's Bakowski Bridge of Lights glow honors Amber Withers-Bohrod, who is visiting Shreveport on behalf of the Levitt Family Foundation. The bridge will shine in green, blue, and yellow—the official colors of the Levitt Foundation logo—in recognition of the organization’s extraordinary support of our community.

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council is deeply grateful for the Levitt Foundation’s generous three-year grant, which helps bring 30 free live music events to Caddo Common Park through the Levitt AMP Shreveport Music Series. This investment in the arts strengthens community connections, expands access to live music, and enriches the cultural life of Shreveport for residents and visitors alike.
