🏆📸 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR VERY OWN CECI CROSBY! 🎉🌟

We are bursting with RENZI PRIDE! ❤️

Please join us in celebrating our incredibly talented Renzi teacher, Ceci Crosby, who was named the 2026 Photo Prize Grand Prize Winner for her breathtaking photograph, “Star Out the Sky!”

And WOW, what an extraordinary photograph! The lighting, composition, creativity, and emotion are absolutely phenomenal. This is artistic vision at its finest! Ceci, we could not be prouder of you! ❤️ Your talent is remarkable, but what makes this accomplishment even more meaningful is that you share your creativity and passion with the students at Renzi. You are not just creating beautiful art; you are inspiring young minds to discover their own artistic voices.

Never stop creating, never stop dreaming, and never underestimate the power of your gift. Your success is a beautiful reminder to our students that their dreams are worth pursuing and their creativity deserves to be seen.

Keep reaching for the stars, Ceci! Your light is shining brightly, and we know this is only the beginning of even greater things to come! ✨ Congratulations from your entire Renzi family! We are so fortunate to have you inspiring our young artists! ❤️🎨

Her Concern Didn't End at the School Door

Blessed Elisabetta Renzi didn't view education as something that ended when a student finished school. Her biography tells us that she remained concerned about the futures of young women after their education and would sometimes personally work to help them find employment. Think about that. For Elisabetta, success wasn't simply getting a student through school. It was preparing that young person for life.

That commitment to what happens after a child leaves the classroom is another part of the educational legacy behind the Renzi name.

Next week: Teaching was only part of Elisabetta's story. She also had to become an administrator, problem-solver and institution builder. Watch for another side of Elisabetta Renzi.

🌺 Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it’s fall!

The calendar says October, but the temperatures are still giving us a taste of summer! Fortunately, the spider lilies at Renzi Center seem to know what season it is! These beautiful red blooms have made their annual appearance around our campus, reminding us that fall really is here, even if the weather hasn’t quite gotten the message.

There’s something special about the way red spider lilies seem to pop up almost overnight, bringing a brilliant splash of color to the landscape. They’re one of those little seasonal surprises we look forward to each year. Sometimes, nature gives us the best reminders to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us. 🍂

🌺 Have the spider lilies started blooming in your yard? What’s your favorite sign that fall has arrived? Share a pic.

Sometimes, the smallest voices leave the biggest impressions. As I was going through a stack of student papers at Renzi, I came across a poem written by one of our students. I stopped reading. Among the words were:

“I want food.”
“I feel hungry.”
“I dream of food.”
“I hope eat food.”

I read those words more than once. I don’t know everything that was going through this student’s mind when the poem was written, but those words deserved my attention. As Executive Director, much of my day is spent thinking about budgets, grants, staffing, programming, and keeping the doors open. There are days when the responsibilities of running a nonprofit can feel overwhelming…….and then something like this happens.

A simple piece of paper reminds me that behind every number we report, every grant we write, and every program we offer is a child with a story, a voice, and needs that may extend far beyond the classroom.

At Renzi, we teach reading, math, music, art, and so much more. But our work has never been just about academics. It’s about seeing the whole child.

Today, a student’s poem reminded me why I do what I do…. why the work matters… why hosting fundraisers and writing grants matter, and why partnerships with agencies like the Food Bank matter. Sometimes, the most important things we learn at Renzi come from the children themselves. ❤️

Educating the Whole Child

For Blessed Elisabetta Renzi, education was about more than completing lessons. Her work sought to prepare young people intellectually, personally, morally and socially for the lives ahead of them. She cared about their development as people.

That idea remains deeply relevant today. At Renzi Education & Art Center, academics matter, and so do art, music, creativity, confidence, relationships, new experiences and discovering talents a child may not yet know they possess.

Different century. Different methods. But the idea of developing the whole child remains powerful.

Next week: Elisabetta's concern for her students didn't necessarily end when they left school. Watch for a remarkable example of just how personally she invested in their futures.
