For 13 years, Cyrus Fiene has been part of the Fred Hutch community.

After losing his mom to cancer in 2013, Cyrus and his dad discovered Fred Hutch Obliteride and found a way to channel their grief into something meaningful. What started as a ride became a family tradition and a lasting connection to the mission.

"Events like this really bring the community together and show that we're not alone in this. It is motivating to see people come together for such an important cause because it gives us hope."

Today, Cyrus continues to ride and fundraise through Obliteride while also serving on the Innovators Network Council. Innovators Network at Fred Hutch is a community of passionate advocates, volunteers, and philanthropists who come together to support Fred Hutch's mission and help drive progress toward ending cancer and related diseases. As a member of the council, Cyrus helps engage the next generation of supporters year-round.

"Being part of the group that helps share Fred Hutch's mission is special, and I am honored to be part of it. Witnessing the science behind the donations and seeing how far the research has come is truly motivating."

Whether you're looking to ride, run, volunteer, fundraise, or connect with a community of people who believe in a future free of cancer, there's a place for you at Fred Hutch. Join us at Obliteride this summer and learn more about Innovators Network at https://bit.ly/3zUTyld! 💙 🧡

For Angela, Fred Hutch Obliteride is a way to honor her mom, Zoraida, who passed away from lung cancer in 2016 after receiving compassionate care from Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Over the years, participating in Obliteride has become a meaningful family tradition, now even sweeter as Angela watches her son, Kali, walk in honor of his Lola. 🧡

Angela Obliterides and fundraises to help fuel groundbreaking research at Fred Hutch and carry her mom’s memory forward. We’re grateful to have her family as part of the Obliteride community.
