An estimated 7,000 rare diseases affect 30 million Americans. That's one in 1 in 10 individuals in the US alone. Being so rare can be incredibly isolating and often there are knowledge and treatment gaps about each individual illness. CCI's Living with Rare Chronic Illness Support Group brings individuals together living with different rare diseases and connects them over the shared experiences of being rare so they have a safe place to talk about these challenges. Visit the programs page of our website to learn more about this support group and to see how to sign up - https://buff.ly/boy3g3r.

Something exciting is coming back in 2027…

The 2nd Annual Chronic Illness Symposium will take place virtually on April 16–17, 2027!

After such a meaningful and inspiring event this year, we’re thrilled to continue creating a space where patients, caregivers, and providers can come together for education, connection, and support.

Please save the date and stay tuned for future announcements, including a call for speakers, sponsorship and virtual exhibitor opportunities, and registration details in the coming months.

We can’t wait to gather with this community again. 💜

Women living with chronic illness carry so much every single day. Chronic pain. Fatigue. Mobility challenges. Financial strain. Isolation. And often, the invisible weight of navigating it all alone.

At the Center for Chronic Illness, we believe no one should have to face chronic illness without support and community. Through 20+ free virtual support groups each month, health education programs, and our annual Chronic Illness Symposium, we help women connect, learn, and feel less alone.

We’re currently just over halfway to meeting our $2,500 match goal — and every donation made through June 30th will be matched dollar for dollar by We Work for Health WA.

Your support today helps ensure these programs remain accessible to the women who need them most.

Donate today and help us continue building spaces of connection, understanding, and support. 💜 https://buff.ly/3MnHNtv

Some of the hardest parts of chronic illness are the ones no one can see.

The grief.
The uncertainty.
The loss of identity.
The isolation.
The exhaustion of constantly adapting to a life you never planned for.

At the Center for Chronic Illness, we believe emotional support and mental health matters, and we create programs like our free, virtual support groups to help individuals navigate the emotional journey of living with chronic health challenges. No one should have to navigate chronic illness alone.

This month, during our Supporting Women with Chronic Illness campaign, every donation will be matched 1:1 up to $2,500 thanks to the support of We Work for Health WA — helping us continue providing community, education, advocacy, and support for women living with chronic illness.

💜 Your support reminds people they are seen.
💜 Your donation helps people feel less alone.

We wanted to share an important update with our community.

After thoughtful consideration, and in light of the continued growth of our national community—including the strong engagement from our recent Chronic Illness Symposium—we’ve made the decision to cancel this year’s Supporting Women with Chronic Illness Luncheon.

As our reach continues to expand across the country, we’ve increasingly recognized the need for more accessible ways to connect, share stories, and support women living with chronic illness—no matter where they are.

To build on this momentum, we’re excited to launch our Supporting Women with Chronic Illness campaign throughout May and June. This campaign will allow us to continue sharing stories, elevating lived experiences, and raising critical support for our programs in a more inclusive and flexible way.

If you were planning to attend or support the luncheon, we would be so grateful if you would consider joining us through this campaign instead. https://www.thecenterforchronicillness.org/supporting-women-with-chronic-illness

Thank you for being part of this community and for continuing to stand with women navigating chronic illness.💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Chronic Illness Symposium!

We were honored to welcome 487 registered attendees from nine countries, with 323 joining us live throughout the two day event, alongside 59 speakers and 14 virtual exhibitors who helped bring valuable resources and information to this community.

Beyond the numbers, what stood out most were the shared themes of connection, validation, and engagement—reflected in both the sessions and attendee feedback:

“The compassionate spirit of the entire event.”
“The sense of community was very inclusive.”
“The variety of presenters, their experiences, their knowledge, and their vulnerability.”

We extend our sincere thanks to the speakers and exhibitors for their partnership, and to every attendee who contributed to such a thoughtful and impactful experience. Thank you to our staff, board, and volunteers who helped our first symposium run smoothly. And a huge thank you to our sponsors, and A. Rabin & Associates, Ltd.

🎥 Symposium recordings (35+ sessions) remain available to attendees through mid-January 2027. If you missed the event, you can still purchase a Replay Ticket here for access to all recordings - https://buff.ly/ivBEEPr.

We look forward to building on this momentum and will be sharing opportunities in June for those interested in participating in the 2027 Symposium as speakers, exhibitors, or sponsors.
