Thank you GSBA for hosting such an inspiring Pride Luncheon event that celebrated the power of community, advocacy, and inclusion.

It was especially exciting see to our partners at Kaiser Permanente Washington as an event sponsor and their continued commitment to advance health equity and supporting LGBTQ+ communities.

A special thank you as well to Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal for her powerful video message, reminding us that progress is built through collective action, courage, and compassion.

As Pride Month begins, we are proud to stand alongside organizations and leaders working to ensure that every person has access to the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.

Pride Month is a celebration of identity, community, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and inclusion.

At Project Access Northwest, we know that access to health care is not equal for everyone. Many LGBTQIA+ individuals continue to face barriers to care, including lack of insurance, financial challenges, discrimination, and difficulty finding culturally responsive providers.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to the care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives. Through our care coordination programs, provider partnerships, and community collaborations, we work every day to help uninsured and underinsured individuals access specialty medical care, mental health services, dental care, and other essential health resources.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity, dignity, and access for all.

Together, we can help build a future where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and supported on their health care journey.

Happy Pride Month!

Congratulations to Verdant Health Commission on yesterday's inspiring Community Convening on Youth, Adolescent, and Young Adult Mental Health.

Bringing together leaders, providers, advocates, and community voices to strengthen mental health systems for young people is more important than ever. We appreciate the thoughtful leadership of Commissioner Caroyln Brennan, Representative Lauren Davis, and the many voices from the field helping guide these critical conversations.

From building stronger cross-sector connections to identifying gaps, opportunities, and pathways for collective action, this convening represents the kind of collaboration our communities need to ensure young people can access compassionate, equitable, and responsive mental health support.

Thank you, Verdant Health Commission, Alison Poulsen, Ceil Manner Erickson and the staff for creating space for meaningful dialogue and community-driven solutions that will help shape a healthier future for youth and families across South Snohomish County.

Today, we celebrate Music Heals Day with KEXP and the powerful role music plays in supporting mental health, connection, and healing.

At Project Access Northwest, we see every day how emotional wellness impacts overall health. Through our Pro Bono Counseling program, uninsured and underinsured individuals across Washington gain access to compassionate mental health support when they need it most.

Music reminds us to pause, reflect, and feel connected — especially during difficult moments. If you are struggling, please know this: you are not alone.

Thank you to KEXP for continuing to shine a light on the healing power of music and community. To learn more about our pro bono counseling program, visit: https://bit.ly/4pPyKV1

At Project Access Northwest, our approach to care is rooted in more than programs—it’s grounded in values. Every referral, every connection, and every act of coordination is guided by our commitment to advocacy, collaboration, compassion, equity, service, and support.

Through programs like Specialty Care Coordination, Community Resource Connections, DentistLink, Premium Assistance, and Pro Bono Counseling, we work alongside communities across Washington State to ensure our most vulnerable neighbors can access the care they deserve.

For more than 20 years, we have believed that health care access should never depend on income, insurance status, or circumstance. Our values lead every decision we make because behind every case is a person, a family, and a community counting on care with dignity and respect.

Earlier this month, Project Access Northwest’s Community Resource Connections Team was proud to be Washington State Department of Health Care-A-Van, Bird's Eye Medical, and Medical Teams International to support community members in accessing vital health services.

The event was a tremendous success—22 individuals received essential health screenings and health education, and 18 individuals were referred to Project Access Northwest for help accessing specialty care and additional critical resources for themselves and their families.

We’re grateful to our partners for making this outreach possible and helping ensure more people can get the care they deserve.

A recent The Seattle Times report shows that ACA enrollment in Washington has fallen nearly 13% this year after significant premium increases following the expiration of enhanced federal subsidies. More than 36,000 residents are now opting out of coverage because they simply can’t afford the cost. You can read the report here: https://bit.ly/4356qDU

This isn’t just a statistic — it’s a crisis of access that affects our neighbors, friends, and family. When rising premiums make insurance unattainable, the people who suffer most are those already navigating financial instability and health vulnerabilities.

At Project Access Northwest, we’re on the front lines of this challenge. Our programs serve as a vital safety net for those who are priced out of insurance but still desperately need care. We help uninsured and underinsured individuals:

-Access medical appointments and specialty care
-Navigate complex healthcare systems
-Stay connected to support services that preserve health and dignity

Health care isn’t a luxury — it’s a human right. And as systemic affordability barriers grow, community-based solutions like ours become even more essential.

Let’s recommit — as professionals, advocates, and community members — to supporting access to care for all. If you’re inspired to get involved, connect with us or learn more about our work at Project Access Northwest.

For nearly a year, policymakers have warned that ACA enrollment could fall off a cliff. Now we know exactly how many people in Washington dropped out.

Today is —a day when people come together to support nonprofits making a real difference in our communities.

Across Washington, thousands of people are skipping care because of cost, confusion, or barriers that feel impossible to navigate. At Project Access Northwest, our care coordinators change that—one person, one appointment, one life-changing connection at a time.

If you’ve ever believed healthcare should be easier to access, this is the day to act.
