Our President & CEO, Michelle Merriweather was recognized as a Women of Power award recipient at this year's National Urban League Conference! She joins an esteemed group of women who have been honored for their distinguished service, assertive leadership, and material changed produced in their communities.

The recognition not only celebrated Michelle's leadership but also the expanding impact the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle has had on the communities we serve.

Michelle recently had the chance to catch up with the The Seattle Medium, where she spoke extensively about the organizational strength that ULMS has displayed over the past decade.

💬 “When I joined the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle in 2015, there were 12 of us. Today, there are more than 150 hardworking, incredible people dedicated to this work,” said Merriweather. “This belongs to you.”

Thanks to You!!! — Our 5th Annual For the Culture Summer Resource Festival was all we dreamed of and MORE!! 🙌🏾

🤯 👥 We had an estimated 3500+ attendees: with 600 backpacks, 1000+ Instacart grocery kits, and 2900+ hot meals served!! No matter how many waves of people showed up, we all made space for each other to celebrate and enjoy the incredible opportunities around us!! 🌞

We send gratitude to every single Community Org we teamed up with for this event! This weekend was yet another reminder of how we all work collectively to make our people feel seen and protected!

To our Vendors and Entertainers; thank you for keeping people fed, informed, connected, and enthralled!!
