In Honduras, a new space for opportunity is opening for farming families.

The Harvest of Hope Center was created to support learning, production, and hands-on training—helping families strengthen their skills and move closer to lasting opportunity.

This is more than a facility. It is a place where hard work, guidance, and access can help families build a stronger path forward.

More soon.

Poverty can force families into impossible choices.

But when parents gain access to land, training, markets, and a path to stable income, the future begins to change—not only for one harvest, but for the next generation.

Agros helps farming families build the kind of stability where children can learn, grow, and imagine more.

At Agros, training happens where opportunity takes root: in the field, beside the crop, and through the daily work of building something lasting.

Families learn climate-smart agriculture, production standards, and business practices by doing the work themselves—with guidance, support, and a clear path forward.

This is how learning becomes opportunity.

On World Environment Day, we celebrate climate action that begins with families.

Through the Rick Steves’ Europe Climate Smart Commitment, Agros families in rural Central America are putting climate-smart best practices into action to protect water sources, restore forests, and build more sustainable ways to live and grow.

With updated data from these best practices, more than 7,863 families have gained improved access to safer water systems, over 233,000 trees have been planted, and eco-friendly cookstoves have helped reduce firewood use by more than 1.65 million kilograms.

Caring for the land means building a future that lasts.

With your support, more families can:
Restore and protect natural ecosystems through reforestation, reduce emissions through sustainable farming practices, improve soil health and conserve water.

At the same time, they’re building resilient agribusinesses that create intergenerational prosperity.

For José Joel the biggest change is simple: his hard work is no longer building someone else’s future. It is building his own.

Before Agros, he worked as a day laborer in private farms for low pay.

Today, he is growing crops, learning new skills, staying closer to his family, and earning income from work that is his. He says tomato production has gone well enough that he has already started buying materials to build his house.

Hard work alone was not enough. But when hard work meets opportunity, everything begins to change.

At Agros’ Harvest of Hope Centers, producers earn income while they learn.

They build real skills in modern, climate-smart agriculture while working toward something bigger: the chance to grow, earn, and build something of their own.

Because learning cannot wait for later. It has to generate income today while shaping the future.
