When Typhoon Halong displaced more than 1,000 Alaskans, our member Amazon.com worked with local organizations to understand what communities needed and determine how its unique resources could help.

That included leveraging something Amazon knows well: logistics. ✈️ After identifying needed shelter supplies with the Red Cross, Amazon found space on planes already traveling to Alaska. The first conversation happened on a Wednesday and relief supplies arrived by Saturday.

In our newest blog, Amazon's Vidya Sampath shares what their Disaster Relief Team learned about listening first, working alongside local partners and knowing when a company's unique strengths can be put to use.
