Greater Good Charities works to help people, animals, and the environment by mobilizing in response to need and amplifying the good.

Contributions to Greater Good Charities, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible in the U.S. for computing income and estate taxes. Hurricane Isaias emergency pet supplies and food have arrived on the ground. A full truckload from our pre-positioned aid hub reached our partners, Florida State Animal Response Coalition and was distributed to families and pets in need.

Our rescue flight is also transporting 22 dogs affected by Hurricane Isaias to shelters in New Jersey, where they will soon find loving homes. Every pet we fly out frees up space and resources so local shelter staff can focus on rebuilding their community.

Since 2020, CSRN has built a global network of 5,000+ students across 63 university branches, delivering pro bono consulting, research, journalism, and implementation support to nonprofits navigating crisis — 578 projects for 560 nonprofits and counting.

As part of Greater Good Charities, that work reaches even further: more specialized support for our nonprofit partners, and a powerful new pathway for the next generation of changemakers.

"These dogs actually gave me more hope, gave me more appreciation of life, and brought my spirits more up."

Those are the words Shanique shared with us. She has been navigating homelessness in Los Angeles since losing her mother. Not long ago, she took in two dogs from a woman who could no longer care for them. "They kind of lift me back up to be who I am," she said.

At a recent community distribution event on Skid Row, Greater Good Charities helped provide pet food, supporting community members like her who care for their pets while facing housing instability themselves.

For Shanique, her dogs are the reason she keeps going. This World Homeless Day we are reminded that compassion means caring for the whole family, pets included.

EMERGENCY: Hurricane Isaias has made landfall. The first hurricane of the Atlantic season, it struck the Gulf Coast as a dangerous Category 2.

Streets are flooded. Families are stranded without power. Some pets were displaced from their homes by the severity of Isaias' path.

Greater Good Charities has teams in Florida ready to help, and are assessing the impacts. We are working to fill requests for emergency aid to support families.

BREAKING: Category 3 Hurricane Isaias is barreling toward the Gulf Coast, expected to intensify, and threatening families and pets with storm surge, flooding, and hurricane force winds over 100 mph.

Clean water for a child. Care for the animals a family refused to leave behind. This is what recovery looks like in Nepal.

Since flooding hit in August, your support has helped bring hygiene and safety kits, water purification units, and feed to more than 1,000 animals.

Bats are among the planet's most impressive pollinators. With over 1,300 species worldwide, these nocturnal mammals pollinate more than 500 plants and keep pests like mosquitoes at bay.

Despite this amazing work, 77 bat species are endangered or critically endangered today. Our biodiversity & conservation team supports bat monitoring and restoration projects to help protect this incredible species. 🦇🌙

It's Animal Welfare Week, and we're celebrating with a story of recovery! 🐷✨

A farm sanctuary rescued 163 pigs from a suspected animal cruelty case. Thanks to Greater Good Charities, medical care and treatment costs were covered for the animals. Sven's image, one of the rescued pigs, is attached below. ❤️
