Hey folks.. 💩

You otter know, we've resorted to even MORE cute animals in even MORE hard hats because there's no easy way to say this. The time has come to Revive I-5. Northbound I-5 in Seattle from I-90 to NE 45th Street will be fully closed starting at 11:59 p.m on Friday, July 18, through 5 a.m. Monday, July 21.

Express lanes will run northbound all weekend and downtown express lane ramps will stay open to everyone. If you’re headed downtown, use Edgar Martinez Drive, Dearborn, James or Madison streets — or eastbound I-90 to Rainier.

When northbound I-5 reopens on Monday, July 21, lane reductions will stick around until Aug. 15. Then we'll have another full closure to pick everything back up. The Express Lanes will continue to run northbound only for the next four weeks.

It's that time of year! Nope, the other one! Time to sign up to perform at the Seattle Wedding Show !

Every year we host a booth at the Seattle Wedding Show (held at the convention center downtown) where thousands of spouses-to-be can check out our musicians and learn more about hiring live music.

We have performance spaces available in the lobby for larger ensembles and in our booth for soloists or small ensembles (think quartet or smaller). The booth should have little to no amplification (there will be a power strip there as well as a basic keyboard), but the lobby can be as rockin' as you like! We even have a PA system that you can use. It is not unusual for musicians to book weddings on site while they are playing, people really respond well to seeing the engagement of a live musician.

For organizational purposes, time slots are 60 minutes each with 15 minutes for transition. That being said, feel free to request more than one slot. In past years, people have enjoyed doing multiple hours throughout the day or on both days.

There is availability on Saturday, February 1st from 10am to 5pm in the booth and 10am to 3:20pm in the lobby, and Sunday, February 2nd from 10:30am to 4pm in the booth and 10:30am to 2:30pm in the lobby.

Hey Hey Friends!

Keep your eyes open for your paper ballots! We have 4 member at large chairs and 6 people running for them, so be sure to fill out your ballot and have it postmarked NO LATER THAN Tuesday December 3rd.

If you are a member in good standing and have not received your ballot by this Thursday, November 21st please call the office to ensure that you are able to participate 🙂

- Have at least one parent in good standing as a member of a Local AFM
- Be currently enrolled or accepted into an institute of higher education for the fall of 2024
- Submit a headshot
- Personal essay of approximately 500-750 words
