Every day, we see a little more of Sage—and this sweet boy is doing SO GREAT!

Around people he knows and trusts, he comes alive. He loves to frolic in the yard, play, soak up affection and, of course, perk those ears the second he hears a treat bag. 😂 New people and quick movements can still make him a little unsure, but his confidence is growing every day.

Sage is still with his momma, Nutmeg, and there will always be something special about the bond these two share. 💕 At the same time, we’re seeing how separate homes could give each of them room to blossom in their own way. Sage LOVES attention and will sometimes swoop right in and steal the spotlight from his quieter momma!

Could they go home together? Absolutely. But we also think each could thrive separately with a confident pug buddy to show them the ropes and help them continue embracing all the good things about being a dog. For a pup like Sage, sometimes the greatest gift is a confident dog by his side—not a bully or a boss, but a buddy who shows him the ropes. The car door outside? That’s probably someone coming home! A new person walking in? Let’s go see who it is! A strange noise? No big deal. That kind of calm confidence can teach a cautious dog so much about how to navigate the world.

For now, we’re just loving watching Sage become a little braver, a little sillier and a little more himself every day. 💚🐾

✨ International Day of Charity ✨

Today is a beautiful reminder that making a difference doesn’t always require a grand gesture.

Sometimes it’s opening your home to a foster dog. Sharing a post. Giving someone encouragement. Helping with a transport. Donating a bag of food. Checking on a friend. Choosing patience. Showing compassion when it would be easier to look the other way.

Every act of kindness adds a little more light to the world. 💚

In rescue, we’re lucky enough to see those little lights come together every day — volunteers, fosters, adopters, donors and supporters each doing what they can. One act may feel small on its own, but together, they can completely change a life. 🐾

So today, for International Day of Charity, we have one simple challenge:

✨ Do something kind.
✨ Spread a little light.
✨ Make someone’s world a little brighter.

You never know how far that kindness will travel. 💚🐶

🌲🐾 PUPdate! Happy Tails alert! 🐾🌲

From Priscilla to Presley… and still as sweet as sugar! 🍬🐾

When little Priscilla came into Evergreen Pug Rescue, she was an itty-bitty black sweetheart with a whole lot of wiggles. We had a feeling she wouldn’t be waiting long for her forever family—and we were right!

At the end of July 2025, Priscilla found her family and became Presley. ❤️

A year later, she’s still just as happy, wiggly, and sweet as ever! But this little girl has also been busy learning her manners. Her family has been taking her to training classes for about a year, and Presley has become quite the talented student.

She can sit, down, off, wait, stay, spin, up, back, and retrieve—although we’re guessing she still considers treats the most important part of her education. 😂

And once a week, Presley gets to take a break from her studies and head to doggy resort for a day of playing with all her furry friends. She has SO much fun that she comes home completely worn out. A tired pug is a happy pug! 🐶💤

Presley came into her family’s lives just a couple of months after they lost their beloved Boston Terrier. While they will always miss their sweet Boston, Presley has brought a new kind of joy into their home and helped their hearts begin to heal.

They love their sweet girl more than words can say and are incredibly grateful that Evergreen Pug Rescue helped bring Presley into their lives.

And we are just as grateful that this little black bundle of wiggles found such a wonderful family.

Happy life, Presley! Keep being your sweet, silly, sugar-coated self. ❤️

🌲🐾 PUPdate! Happy Tails alert! 🐾🌲

Sometimes the perfect adoption story starts with a foster home.

Sometimes… it ends there. ❤️🐾

When Koi came into Evergreen Pug Rescue, her foster mom, Janel, immediately got to work helping this sweet girl become healthier and more active. With carefully increased walks, regular mealtimes, and plenty of encouragement, Koi began shedding the extra pounds and discovering just how much she loved going on adventures with Janel and her pug pack.

But something else was happening along the way…

Koi was becoming Janel’s girl.

She followed her everywhere, had endless little pug-grumbling conversations with her, and quickly became such a natural part of the household that friends and family started saying, “It’s like she’s always been here.”

Then Koi became available for adoption, and we found a wonderful family who was interested in giving her a forever home. So, naturally, we contacted Janel to let her know.

And that’s when Janel called us...

She realized she couldn’t let Koi go.

That’s when we knew we had a foster fail on our hands. 🥰

Today, Koi is officially Lily—although she also answers to Lilypad, Lilibeth, and Lil Kim when she’s feeling particularly sassy. 😂

Her hobbies include supervising Mom while she works, running wild with her pug pack, visiting Granny, snack time, showing the boys who’s boss, playing hide-and-seek in the closet, getting brushed, watching Law & Order marathons, and taking up approximately 97% of the people bed every night.💤

In other words… she’s living her absolute best life.

Janel says Lily is the little love pug they never knew they needed—and they couldn’t be happier that they didn’t have to say goodbye.

Sometimes a foster family helps a pug find her forever home.

And sometimes, the pug quietly decides she’s already found it. ❤️

Happy forever, Lily. We think you made the right choice. 🐾💕

Twice the Love, Twice the Frosting! Meet Bourbon & Midori, our newest Evergreen duo! 💚 These two just turned 8, and we happen to think those perfectly frosted faces make them even more irresistible.

Bourbon and Midori have been together since they were little. Sadly, after their owner passed away, they found themselves needing a new chapter — and that chapter will continue side by side.

While bonded pairs can sometimes take a little longer to find their forever home, we’ve actually had great luck finding families who understand that sometimes TWO pugs really are better than one! Because these two are a package deal, we’re getting their sweet faces out there early and giving everyone a chance to fall in love.

Their foster says they’re classic pugs — champion snugglers and nappers who love their food, follow their people around, enjoy exploring outside, and still have plenty of playfulness in them. They’ve also done wonderfully with other dogs and children.

Midori is medically cleared, while Bourbon still has a dental ahead of him. They’re not quite ready to pack their bags yet, but there’s no reason to wait to start finding the family who will be lucky enough to call them theirs. ❤️

Eight years young, eight adorable paws, two perfectly frosted faces, and one forever home to find. 🐾🏡

🌲🐾 PUPdate! Happy Tails alert! 🐾🌲

Talk about a Valentine’s Day love match! 💕🐾

What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than falling head over heels for a new pug?

That’s exactly what happened when Opalite met her future family. Her new parents already had two handsome boys at home—Bert the pug and Mr. Tibbs the Frenchie—and they decided their family needed just a little more girl energy. 💗

They met Opalite, everyone fell in love, and she went home with them that very day. And just like that, Opalite became Luna. 🌙

Luna didn’t waste any time making herself at home. The very next day, she was dressed up with her new brothers for a Chinese New Year photo shoot, looking perfectly comfortable as part of the family.

And then came bedtime…
Luna apparently decided that sleeping in her own crate was completely unnecessary when her new brothers had a perfectly good crate available. So she climbed right in with Bert and Mr. Tibbs and settled down for the night. 😂

Clearly, Luna is a girl who knows what she wants!

And what she wants is her boys. ❤️

Today, Luna has completely fit in with Bert and Mr. Tibbs. She’s a happy girl who’s always ready for the next adventure, and she even goes to daycare with her brothers to socialize and have fun.

She’s also joined the boys for a couple of agility classes—and this adorable trio has officially earned their own nickname:

BLT — Bert, Luna & Tibbs! 🥓🐾😂

From a Valentine’s Day meeting to Chinese New Year costumes, shared sleeping quarters, daycare adventures, and agility classes, Luna has definitely found her perfect match.

Sometimes love really does find you when you least expect it.

And sometimes… you find your perfect rescue pug on Valentine’s Day. 💕🐾
