Marshfield’s Annual Candlelight Vigil to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day.
Whether you are grieving a loved one lost to overdose or other substances, struggling with substance use, in active recovery or standing in solidarity as a neighbor, you are welcome.
We will stand to honor 3 sacred promises: To honor the vibrant lives lost without stigma, to care for loved ones and to support those who are still fighting. We see you all.

The Town of Scituate, Scituate FACTS Coalition, and South Shore Peer Recovery announce a service on International Overdose Awareness Day, Monday, August 31, 2026, at 5:45 am at the Old Scituate Lighthouse.

The Scituate service is open to all communities and will acknowledge police officers, firefighters, emergency room workers, individuals in recovery, and members of the community groups who have been working to reduce fatal overdoses and help those who still suffer. The non-sectarian service will be led by Christina Longman, pastor of Harbor United Methodist Church, and will include words of remembrance from community member Samantha Rubenstein and live acoustic music.

Free Narcan kits, along with information on grief support, substance use treatment, and recovery resources, will be available at the resource table in the parking lot before and after the service.

Please arrive by 5:30 am for coffee and resources in the parking lot. Service will begin at 5:45 am on the jetty. Rain or shine.
