What's on the program?

We sing from the Revolutionary war to Broadway, from Indigenous & Black composers, to immigrant composers, to LGBTQ+, from hymns to popular song. ALL the voices that make up our rich choral music tapestry.

Accompanied by piano, bass, and percussion. Sing along on familiar favorites like "Edelweiss," "Take Me Home, Country Roads," and "The Rainbow Connection."

A program of beauty and choral elegance that reflects the musical beauty of America from coast to coast. And we will have some organizations joining us at appropriate places in the program to tell us about their work in community. We are a community chorus, and we are proud to partner with other organizations!
Accompanied by Mijin Choi, pianist, Ed Sorrentino, percussion, and Carlos Sulberan, Bass.

Come take a break, enjoy beautiful music and joy, and take a breath with us. It's a great way to inspire you and recharge your batteries! (about 90 minutes start to finish)

Looking forward to rehearsing this beautiful piece tonight!
Written in Cree by Dr. Sherryl Sewepagaham, she writes that "nipîy (Water Song) was inspired by an afternoon of fishing along the Lesser Slave River on the Sawridge Cree Nation in Treaty 8 territory near Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada. It reflects a summer experience of sitting in quiet solitude, waiting for a fish to bite while noticing the river’s movement and listening to the birds, the wind and the water with a busy beaver working nearby.
The text is:
I am here.
I sit beside the water.
I touch you, I hear you, I see you.
I am here.
I sit quietly.
nipîy was commissioned in 2021 by the Canadian Chamber Choir (Dr. Julia Davids, Artistic Director and Dr. Joel Tranquilla, Associate Conductor) with support from the SOCAN Foundation.
Listen to this piece here, and come to our concert in May to hear it and other gorgeous and inspiring pieces of America and the North American continent.

Performed as part of the 2025 Nova Scotia Youth Choir program final concert on September 21, 2025 at Strug Hall at Dalhousie University. Guest Conductor: S...
