* The stories that we share about our clients are based on real events. Often times the details of the story (e.g. age, gender, county of residence, clothing they wear, the relative they are staying with, time frame in which the case occurred, etc.) are changed to prevent a breach of confidentiality and or embarrassment. We at Things of My Very Own, Inc. value the sensitivity of the circumstances that our clients face, however, we share stories with the public to provide them with an idea of the types of situations that children throughout New York State are often faced with.

Calling all party people! 🎉

It’s back! The 7th annual pub crawl!!

Seven years ago, a group of generous friends got together with an epic mission: to have a blast while improving the lives of others! From the first cheers to the final karaoke crescendo, the energy was electric, the enthusiasm contagious, and the fun was off the charts! Everyone had such a great time that the friends decided to host another fundraising event to benefit the organization each year that followed.

Now in its seventh year, the TOMVO Saratoga Pub Crawl is back. This year's event will occur on Saturday, April 18th starting at 1:00pm. Be a part of the fun for as long as you want.

Join this group of friends and us, in this opportunity to unleash your inner karaoke superstar while making a difference in the lives of kids who need it most. Tickets may be purchased using the link below. The ability to carry a tune or dance is not expected or required.

Help children and their adults break free from abusive relationships by sponsoring our Don’t Text Your Ex program.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is matching all donations up to $50,000! Our friends at Dunkin' Donuts heard the news, pulled up with Signature Latte’s in hand, and agreed to match monetary donations for emergency food. That's triple the impact from now through March 26th.

Donate now to help children impacted by violence. Let’s show these kids that their abusers have no place in their lives. https://thingsofmyveryown.org/donate/

Get ready for an empowerment program that is changing the way people view relationships, self-worth, and their ex's phone number. Our "Don't Text Your Ex" program is set to launch next month! We could all benefit from this program; however, it is specific to families impacted by domestic violence. This innovative, non-clinical program is changing the way people see themselves and how they care for their children, and it encourages them to finally get rid of the sweatshirt left on their sofa. It also provides diapers, emergency formula, and other needed items to children escaping violence.

Here's the *BEST* part: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is matching donations up to **$50,000** from now until March 26! 🎉✨ Plus, our friends at Dunkin' Donuts are sweetening the deal by matching monetary donations for emergency food! That’s **TRIPLE** the impact!

So do not pass go. Click the link to donate on our website and show local children that violence has no place in their lives. https://thingsofmyveryown.org/donate/

EMERGENCY CASE #6432 UPDATE

Our hearts are overflowing with joy as we share the latest update on the precious newborn boy from case #6432. Today, we received the sweetest video from Grandpa, capturing a quiet moment of the baby gently rocking in his new bassinet swing. With warmth in his voice, Grandpa shared, “Oh, Rayn, he loves this thing. As soon as we put him in it, he falls asleep. He’s in happy land. It was hard to put together, Rayn, but it was well worth it.” In the background, we could hear Grandma whispering, wondering if it might be time to check his diaper. It is clear that Grandma and Grandpa are cherishing every moment with the beautiful little miracle who has transformed their lives.

This case is a beautiful reminder that love knows no age and some things are simply meant to be. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated to support this family. Your kindness changed the life of a child in crisis, and we are so grateful for your giving hearts.

Here is a glimpse of the first load of items made possible by your generosity. Thank you for being part of this beautiful family's journey!
