Zonta Club of Schenectady Zonta International is an international service organization founded in Buffalo, NY in 1919 with the mission of advancing the status of women worldwide.

The name Zonta is rooted in Native American symbolism. Its a combination of symbols that represent the inspiration and loyalty to service and world understanding of its members. The yellow rose is the symbol of Zonta. It represents fellowship and recognition.

Introducing our 2 District 2 Award winners. It is quite rare to have 1 District winner, much less 2!!
Ayesha Afgan Young Woman in Leadership Award. Junior at Niskayuna HS. Her application has gone on for Zonta International consideration.
Teju Bannuru Jean M C**n Award winner. Senior at Schenendehowa HS. She will be attending Univ. of Florida majoring in Public Health and Sociology.
Both young women had remarkable applications and are very civic minded.

May 5th may be recognized as a day of awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, but the issue does not begin or end there.

Long after awareness days pass and headlines fade, Indigenous families are still searching for answers, justice, and accountability.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls is not a historical issue. It is a present-day human rights crisis.

Awareness matters. Continued attention matters more.
