🚨 AN UPDATE ON THE FIVE PUPPIES WE SHARED YESTERDAY. 🚨

Meet Cheerio, Reese’s, Coco Puff, Raisin, and Tony. 🤎🐾
*
These five were found alone on the side of the road in Kentucky with no mom in sight. After being transported to New York, they arrived extremely sick and were rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic.
*
They are still very sick and receiving the emergency medical care they need.
*
💔 Our goal is $10,500 to help cover their emergency veterinary bills.
*
This fundraiser is strictly for their emergency vet care. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to being able to cover the care these puppies desperately need.

When a dog arrives in rescue, their needs can look simple from the outside.

A safe place to land. Food and fresh water. A comfortable bed. A leash and collar. Veterinary care. Time to decompress. Patience while they learn that they are safe.

But behind every one of those things is a community making it possible.
Rescue dogs don't always arrive ready to trust, play, or settle in. Sometimes their first days are filled with uncertainty. That's why the little things matter so much.

🚨 FIVE PUPPIES NEED OUR HELP. 🚨
*
Rottie Empire Rescue received an urgent call for a litter of five puppies found alone on the side of the road in Kentucky, with no mother in sight.
*
The puppies, believed to be Aussie Doodles, were seen by a veterinarian in Kentucky before being transported to New York. When they arrived, it was clear they were much sicker than anyone had hoped.
*
They were extremely lethargic, had bloody diarrhea, were dehydrated and malnourished, had very low blood pressure, were coughing, and were refusing to eat.
*
All five puppies were immediately transported to an emergency clinic, where they have now been admitted and are receiving care.
*
The initial concerns include anemia, malnutrition, dehydration, respiratory symptoms, and dangerously low blood pressure. The veterinary team is also waiting on respiratory testing and an infectious disease panel to help determine exactly what these little ones are fighting.
*
We know one thing already: their medical care is going to be significant.
*
RER didn't turn away. We said yes to these five puppies, and now we're asking our community to help us keep that promise. 🤎

Foster Friday: What does fostering even mean?
**
Let's start with the basics. Fostering is opening your home to a dog for a short period of time, usually a few weeks to a few months, while we find them a permanent family. You're not adopting. You're not signing up forever. You're giving a dog a safe, comfortable place to land in between.
**
Some dogs foster because they need space to decompress after a hard past. Some need medical care or recovery time. Some are just waiting for the right adopter to come along. Every one of them needs somewhere warm to wait that isn't a kennel.
**
Now here's what we hear most when people think about fostering.
**
"I don't want my heart broken when they leave." It might sting a little when they go. It's supposed to. But that ache means you did your job, you gave a dog who had nothing a few weeks or months of feeling safe. That's not a loss. That's the whole point.
**
"I don't think I'm experienced enough." You don't need to be a dog trainer. You need a spare room, a fenced yard or a leash, and a little patience. We match every foster with a dog that fits their home, and we're with you for every question, every step.
**
"I can't afford to foster." You shouldn't have to. Food, vet visits, and supplies are covered by Rottie Empire Rescue. Your job is just to open your door.
**
Fostering isn't about being perfect. It's about being willing. And right now, we need more willing homes than we have.
