Operation At Ease is a service dog and resource organization for veterans and first responders

Operation At Ease takes dogs from shelters, pairs them with deserving veterans and first responders and provides a free guided training program for post-traumatic stress and mobility service dogs. In addition to our service dog training programs, we offer resources such as free therapy dog support, ensuring long-lasting assistance for both our country and community heroes.

When your trying to capture loose leash legends graduation photos but the dogs are having feelings about it 🙄

If you see these dogs sauntering down the street, say congratulations to them, and this is the response you get, we apologize. We do not teach this is class. Some dogs just get cocky when they know they put in the work to behave well walking with their people.

😂Monday Morning Joke of the Week

What do you get when two firefighters 👩🏻‍🚒adopt overlooked dogs 🐾 from a shelter and rescue and invest a year of weekly training into them?

Service dogs. You get service dogs.

Maybe not Ha-ha funny but still incredibly awesome. They blew through the test held at Colonie Center

Congratulations to Laurie and service dog Ruthie and Steph and service dog Xeno for showing up, putting in the work, and accomplishing so much.

I am proud.

🏈 TONIGHT. 6:30 PM. One town, two badges, one very good cause.

Schenectady Police Department vs. Schenectady Sheriff’s Office — the Pig Bowl is back at Schenectady High School, and it's a long-standing Schenectady tradition for a reason.

Two departments that have each other's backs every other day of the year go head-to-head for bragging rights. Every dollar raised goes to Operation At Ease Inc, which takes dogs out of shelters, pairs them with veterans and first responders, and provides a free training program for PTS and mobility service dogs — plus ongoing behavioral support for the life of the dog.

Real heroes carry leashes. Come fill the stands and help them do it.

🇺🇸 Congratulations to Donna and Dora who have officially passed their public access test and earned their place as a Service Dog Team!

This is Donna’s second dog with us, and it’s a reminder of how special it is when a veteran chooses to return and do it all again.

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act there is no licensing, registration, or certification for service dogs. In spite of that, we test our teams a series of three times, twice from an outside organization, always from a trainer they have never met. This not only upholds the integrity of what a service dog is, it provides our teams with benchmark celebrations. The public access test being the biggest celebration of all!

Dora came to us from the Prison Pup Program and was originally named Lexi. Donna immediately changed her name to Dora, so they could explore together.

Donna and SERVICE DOG Dora, may you spend every day embracing the fun, relishing in the moment and enjoying every moment exploring together.

I often say that I have the privilege of working with the best people in our country. Katie is no exception to that. She is the walking, talking, dog training definition of .

While Katie's story is remarkable her perseverance in rewriting the ending is what is truly extraordinary. I don't think I have ever met anyone who works harder at being more than what happened to her than Katie.

Katie is a veteran of the United States Navy. She is an active and involved mother and a fierce and mighty advocate for woman leaving and living with the effects of domestic violence. Traveling the country her talks are about who she is and what she is striving to become rather than what was done to her. She has goals and she lives achieving them.

Katie was matched with her SDIT Athena (formally Matilda of Mohawk Hudson Humane Society) and named appropriately after the Goddess of War and protector of civilized life. You can find her locally writing grants for Benson's Cares, raising money for Wellspring Saratoga, or working most of our event tables. If you ever need a healthy dose of awesome, come and shake Katies hand.

📣 Good Dog Alert

Ladies and Gentlemen, today I am happy to introduce you to our Latest and the Greatest Therapy Dog graduates!

These teams worked hard and last night were tested in The Home Depot for their Canine Good Citizen Advanced from the American Kennel Club. They will now join the ranks for our Canine Support Team and bring therapeutic benefit to our local veterans, first responders and military bases. Serving those who serve us!

🐾Reactive Dogs, we live with them, we love them, we just want to walk them down the street!

Reactive dogs are the # 1️⃣ reason we get called for private lessons.

👂We heard you (and your dog!) and are happy to say we now have two new Reactive Dog packages for you to choose from. Both will include muzzle training for your peace of mind.

❌A muzzle does NOT mean you have a "bad" dog! A muzzle is a took, like a leash, that allows our dogs to make better decisions. It also keeps our anxiety lower which in turn makes us better handlers.

My friends I am very happy to announce to you that my favorite daughter, Taitum Bonilla, has officially joined the OAE team FULL TIME as our marketing and content coordinator!

Many of you have watched her grow up over the years at different events and classes. This kid has always been my biggest supporter, my calm in the storm, and a few times the reason I kept this organization going.

Growing up in an active-duty military family, Taitum doesn't just understand the life, she literally doesn't know anything different. She was raised in a two-parent household and simultaneously by a single mother due to yearly deployments. During school events while other children searched the crowd for mom and dad, she would look for me holding up my phone with Matt on Facetime- sometimes from the Middle East! She has missed birthday parties on the weekends for promotion ceremonies (that are always held on drill weekend) and has reassured more than one Dr's receptionist that yes indeed her dependent ID doubles as her insurance card.

There is truly no one better to help convey our mission than her. So welcome Taitum, the Rory to my Lorelai, I love you. I am so proud of you. Welcome to the biz.
