Temporary Parking Information
The following information explains how to attend Spring Valley Nature Club meetings at the Farm Building while the
Nature Center is under construction. These temporary parking arrangements are in effect from September 2026, through
late summer 2027.
Where to Park
Members and guests can park at St. Matthew’s Church, 1005 E. Schaumburg Road. Use the driveway on the west side of
the church and look for the sign that reads “Spring Valley Nature Center & Heritage Farm ALTERNATE PARKING.”
Continue to the far south end of the parking lot.
After parking, use the path near the accessible parking signs to walk toward Heritage Farm. Please allow a few extra
minutes to reach the Farm Building. A wheelchair-accessible ramp is also available.
Accessibility
If you need help reaching the Farm Building or have mobility concerns, please contact Spring Valley staff for guidance
before your visit.

Join Jennifer Brennan, Horticultural Consultant, and Ron Zick, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Glenview and Arlington Heights to learn how to "Bring Birds to Your Garden".
This 45-minute presentation will cover the best plants to support the native song birds; and the foods to fuel the birds for their Fall migration.
Examples of the types of bird feeders will be displayed and available for purchase; as well as the foods the birds need. These include seeds, grains and nuts; suets, fruits and jellies.
Enjoy a 45-minute presentation with 15 minutes of questions and answers.
Purchases may be made afterwards with cash, checks or credit cards.
*****Please note with the construction at the Nature Center, our monthly program will be at Volkening Heritage Farm.

Don't worry if you did not get your preorder in, we will have plenty of extras available this weekend. Saturday 5/16 and Sunday 5/17 10:00am-3:00pm
Please stop by SPD - Spring Valley Nature Center & Heritage Farm to see all the varieties of tomato plants (50 different kinds!!-Seriously!), the peppers, cucumbers and so many great herbs!! (about 40 different kinds of herbs!)

Spring Valley Nature Club is a Not-for-profit organization and all the profits from the sale go back into sponsoring some great programs at the Spring Valley Nature Center as well as donating for special projects at Spring Valley. That is just 1 reason to order your plants from us, rather than giving your money to the big box stores!
The other reason is because we have more varieties than most stores and a vast array of plants available.
