When Emilyn C. first attended National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) in 2019, she admits her leadership confidence was low—rating herself just 1 out of 10 before the course. But thanks to a Fearless Girls Campership, she gained the chance to grow, lead, and inspire.

“You can’t always do everything yourself—let others help when you need it,” Emilyn shared, reflecting on her biggest takeaway from NYLT. By the end of the week, her confidence had climbed to an 8 out of 10, showing just how much the experience transformed her approach to working with others and leading effectively.

And Emilyn didn’t stop there. She continued her Scouting journey, building her leadership skills year after year. Most recently, she represented our council at the World Scout Moot in Portugal—an international gathering of Scouts from around the globe.

“Moot was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left a lasting impression on me,” Emilyn said. “It wasn’t just my first international event—it was the spark that ignited a deeper passion for global connection, cultural exchange, and personal growth.”
