This morning, members of the Schaumburg VFW Post participated in the road cleanup project called Adopt A Highway.

We are happy to help the Village of Schaumburg, Illinois Government community.

It makes the community look better with this.

Senior Vice Commander:

I want to personally thank the Schaumburg VFW Post 2202, American Legion Post 1983 of Schaumburg / Hoffman Estates - IL, Hines VA Hospital, The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, and Schaumburg Civic Center for the Veterans Resource Fair this past Saturday (September 19th).

This was a joint event with the Schaumburg VFW Post and Schaumburg American Legion Post.

We were able to assist over 20 Veterans local to the Schaumburg, IL area.

As Senior Vice Commander of the Schaumburg VFW, I am very proud of the turnout on our first joint event directly assisting Veterans in our area.

Again, I am very grateful for having the Hines VA Hospital Veteran Representatives and a Veteran Service Officer from IDVA at this event helping Veterans applying into the VA Medical System and help they may need.

I am also grateful for American Legion Post Commander Les Montag (and other members of the American Legion Post) taking time on Saturday with the event.

I look forward to more joint operations to help our Veteran community.

Later in the morning today, 9/11, jsome members of the VFW Post joined up with members of American Legion Post 208 in Arlington Heights, IL for a 9/11 25th Anniversary Remembrance Event at Harper College.

Both groups of veterans were the honor detail for the inside event.

Note: the 2nd picture has story boards showing all 2,977 American lives lost including first responders on 09/11/2001.

We felt honored to participate.

Schaumburg First Responders did the central part of the ceremony while we augmented the event by a r***e detail.

The Schaumburg VFW Post earned All-American Post honors for the 2025 - 2026 VFW Year.

This is a huge honor for any Post to get, and happy to have earned it.

The last time it was earned by the Schaumburg Post was the 2020 - 2021 VFW Year.

While our Post did not officially participate in the 4th of July Parade today, some of us are part of the American Legion Post.

Some of us could not sit idly by and needed to do this.
