Happy birthday to Robert Paul Schweikher, born this day in 1903. We're all so lucky to experience his personal home and studio in Schaumburg, Illinois nearly exactly how he chose to live and work. HBD, Paul!

End of an era. Our Hawthorn tree was blown onto the studio late yesterday with no significant damage to the studio. We believe it was planted around 1948 under consultation from Franz Lipp when Schweikher added an addition to the north studio.

The video was shot late yesterday afternoon when staff departed the property and a storm was beginning to roll in. It was likely pushed over shortly after filming. Photos are from this morning.

This hawthorn provided a wonderful organic contrast to the rigid redwood studio behind it. It will be missed ... and possibly replaced.

We enjoyed hosting local architecture firm, Williams Architects, recently for a private tour of the Schweikher House. The team made great observations about the design of the house.

Consider bringing your professional team out for a private group outing to the Schweikher House!

Thank YOU!!!

What a perfect day for a Peony Party last weekend. Over 100 guests came out to support the Schweikher House while enjoying peak peony blooms and long time resident, Alex Langsdorf's, birthday. We' so grateful to our friends, supporters, and sponsors that help make the Schweikher House a little less hidden but even more of a gem.

Thanks to Urban Street Group, Schaumburg Bank & Trust, Schaumburg Park District, Schaumburg Community Garden Club, and our incredible volunteers for supporting our event!
