Many families are asking the same question: How much screen time is too much?

At Waldorf, we've taken a different approach for more than 100 years. Rather than relying on devices in the classroom, children learn through direct experience, observation, movement, storytelling, artistic work, and meaningful human connection.

What does that look like in practice? We invite you to find out.

Beads, Braids, and Creative Design week (July 27 to 31) is the perfect send-off to summer. Campers will craft their own clay and paper beads, explore braiding techniques, and build one-of-a-kind bracelets, necklaces, plant hangers, and tasseled bookmarks, entirely from scratch.

It's wearable art, made with their own two hands.

Bread and Butter week (July 20 to 24) is all about baking and cooking from scratch.

Campers will become bakers and cooks, making focaccia, quick pickles, energy bites, sun tea, and more. Every child goes home with their delicious creations and a handmade recipe book to remember it all.

It might just be the most delicious week of their summer.

Learn your warp from your weft. It's Weaving Week (July 13 to 17).

Campers will learn the fundamentals of weaving using peg looms, notched frame looms, and even four-harness shaft table looms for more experienced weavers. Smaller pot holder looms will also be available for younger children.

It's a hands-on, screen-free week that builds real skills and a very cool finished project.

You feel the difference as soon as you step through the doorway: a seriousness of purpose and a lightness of being. Maybe you hear the hum of strings, which all students learn to play starting in 3rd grade. Maybe you hear the “golden silence” of deep concentration and focus. Or you notice our students’ vibrant watercolor paintings and intricate handwork decorating the hallway.

The real difference is the smile on our students’ faces from experiencing a learning environment made with their whole selves in mind.

As we open our doors to welcome new members to our community, we wanted to give you a glimpse of what makes our school so special.

The students’ vibrant watercolor paintings on the walls.

The consciously crafted learning spaces, humming with imagination and activity.

Busy hands weaving, drawing, and sculpting to bring academics to life.

This is learning made magical through experience and connection.

We invite you to experience the difference firsthand. Click the link in our bio to schedule a tour.

Big news!

Beginning in 2026–2027, tuition for Grades 1–8 at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs will be just $10,500 per student (reduced from nearly $19,000), with a family maximum of $25,000 per year.

We believe more families should have access to a screen-free, deeply human education with small classes, strong academics, and a community devoted to protecting childhood.
