We are sharing Sebastian’s story on behalf of The Payton Wright Foundation as we are helping to support his family during an incredibly difficult time. Sebastian is a kind 6 year old boy who was diagnosed with medulloblastoma after surgery to remove a brain tumor. He has completed six weeks of proton radiation and is now continuing chemotherapy. He lives with his mom, Kayla, and his older sister, as his father is deceased. Through it all, Sebastian continues to brighten every room he enters, often arriving to clinic in his pajamas and bringing smiles to staff and families around him.

The Payton Wright Foundation recently had the privilege of assisting a family in Phoenix, Arizona, as they care for their brave 13-year-old daughter who is courageously battling DIPG, an aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer. During such an incredibly difficult time, the emotional and financial stress placed on families can be overwhelming.

To help ease some of that burden, The Payton Wright Foundation provided financial assistance toward the family’s mortgage, allowing them to focus less on bills and more on what matters most — spending precious time together and supporting their daughter through treatment and care.

No family should have to choose between keeping a roof over their heads and being present for their child during a medical crisis. Because of the generosity of our supporters, we are able to step in quickly and provide immediate relief to families facing the unimaginable.

Thank you for continuing to stand beside families battling pediatric brain cancer. Your support makes moments like this possible and reminds these families that they are not alone.

As May comes to an end, we want to share the reason behind why we are so passionate about helping families facing pediatric cancer.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes instantly. Parents are forced to miss work, travel for treatments, and face overwhelming financial and emotional stress. No family should have to choose between caring for their child and paying everyday bills.

That is why we help.

We do this to honor Payton’s memory and to continue the kind of compassion and support that helped inspire so many people. Every family we support is a reminder that her legacy is still making a difference.

Through every act of kindness, every family assisted, and every burden eased, Payton’s spirit lives on.
