Today we commemorate Juneteenth, marking the end of slavery in the United States when news of emancipation reached Galveston, Texas, in 1865.

The Junior League honors the resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black communities. We remain committed to promoting equity, inclusion, and lasting positive change in every corner of our work.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a member of Junior League of Manatee County is the opportunity to build meaningful connections while making a difference in our community. Whether you’re meeting someone for the first time at a volunteer shift who later becomes a lifelong friend, or signing up alongside a friend you’ve known for years, service has a special way of bringing people together.

When you enjoy the people you’re serving with, volunteering becomes more than an obligation—it becomes something you look forward to. The laughter, support, and camaraderie make every project more meaningful and every challenge a little lighter.
And when members are excited to show up again and again, our collective impact grows stronger. Friendships fuel service, and service strengthens friendships—and our community benefits from both.

New skill unlocked: Mahjong!! 🀄️

A kind neighbor recently has been teaching a few of our members how to play, and we can officially say they’re obsessed! ❤️

Mahjong nights are definitely in our future… but the bigger question is: would you attend a JLMC Mahjong fundraiser? 👀😂🤓

A little glimpse behind the scenes ❤️

Before the lights, the runway, and the fundraising began, there were countless smiles, helping hands, and dedicated JLMC members making it all happen. Our Fashion Show Luncheon may have been one day, but the impact reaches far beyond it.

We are endlessly grateful for the amazing women of Junior League of Manatee County who volunteer their time, talents, and hearts to serve our community. Because of you, we are able to make a difference year after year. 🫶🏻

Trivia night with some of our favorite people! ✨🧠

Last night, JLMC members got together for a fun summer social at General Knowledge Trivia at Ed’s Tavern in Parrish. While our mission brings us together, it’s the friendships and connections we build along the way that make our League so special.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for a night of laughs, teamwork, and friendly competition! We did pretty good!!! 😆❤️🫶🏻
