This week, we’re not just raising awareness—we’re investing in the future of a growing community impact program.
This year marked the launch of Feed The Need, the Junior League of Manatee County’s newest initiative focused on addressing food insecurity in our community.
You may have already seen JLMC members out at local Publix stores collecting donations for area food pantries through our monthly Feed The Need food drives. Those collections are already helping stock shelves and support organizations serving neighbors facing hunger throughout Manatee County.
But we’re not stopping there. 🖤
Our vision is to grow Feed The Need over time—expanding our reach, strengthening partnerships, increasing collections, and creating an even greater impact for families facing food insecurity.
In Manatee County, approximately 1 in 8 residents experience food insecurity. That’s thousands of neighbors who may not know where their next meal will come from.
Every dollar raised through the Little Black Dress Initiative helps support and strengthen Feed The Need as we work toward that vision of expanded impact and a stronger, more food-secure community.
Together, we’re building something bigger than a single food drive—we’re building a lasting commitment to helping our neighbors.
