🌟 Step Up Suncoast Success Story: Having the right support at the right time can have the greatest impact.
When Nikkita first connected with Step Up Suncoast's Parents as Teachers program, she knew she wanted to create more meaningful learning experiences with her children. But as a busy mom, she often struggled to find activities to do or how to make learning fun and engaging for her children.
Through her almost four years with the program, Nikkita found support, encouragement, and practical tools that helped her feel more confident as a parent. Her Parent Educator, Mrs. Amy, worked together alongside her to find activities that encouraged learning, creativity, and connection.
Our Parents As Teachers program meets families where they are by providing personalized home visits, parenting support, developmental activities, resources, and connections throughout the community.
Our support also went beyond parenting. Nikkita’s family received safety resources, educational supplies, and help connecting with community resources during challenging times.
Today, Nikkita feels more confident creating learning opportunities at home, taking her children on trips to the library, and spending intentional time with them.
“It is truly a blessing to our family as a whole and I feel the program is needed and vital for parents like myself that want to be better.”
