It’s time to get crafty with our weekly Sunday Crafternoon. Stop in any time today to have some self-guided fun! Make a comic collage, create a cat mask, or come up with your own unique idea with our supplies! Plus, you can shop all your favorite titles with Matt. Open til 7PM so stop on in!

Happy Birthday to the daughter of Bat City! Whether you shop at the store, attend our art classes, get free drawings at baseball games, or see us at the library…you have probably meet K-80! Her warm smile and jovial personality brings a sense of wonder to every room she is in. We are so lucky she found us and made Bat City her home. She’s been such an incredible edition to our BatFam. We’re proud of you today and every day!

Today (5/30) at 3PM we are kicking off our 3rd summer of SLAM Academy. SLAM, or Story, Lettering, Art, and Marketing, is a 12 week long intensive that basically gives you a crash course in Sequential Art and Writing! The program is for all ages, but we strongly recommend participants have a strong interest in making comics and stories…and maybe a long attention span. Classes are 2 hours, filled with information, and as always, 100% free!

This week’s class is Character Development in writing. We will talk about how to build out your characters from the main to the villain and everyone in between! Come join us!

Have you met Remus? Chances are if you came in on Wednesday or today for your new books you might have! Remus is the rockstar volunteer who has been helping K-80 while Matt and Shann are at MCM. Check out some of Remus’ book recommendations and then stop by the store and chat comics with him about them! He’ll be there again on Wednesday for New Comic Book Day!
