Proposition 41 requires independent State Auditor reviews before qualifying state special-tax initiatives reach voters and recurring audits after approval. Vote YES for transparency, accountability and another safeguard against Proposition 40.

HEALTH CARE NEEDS STABLE, DURABLE FUNDING. VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 40.

Proposition 40's one-time billionaire wealth tax offers temporary, unpredictable funding. The Legislative Analyst says it could reduce ongoing income-tax revenue, while our communities need durable support for health care, education and food assistance. Vote NO on 40; YES on 41 and 42.

VOTING RIGHTS ARE CIVIL RIGHTS. VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 39.

California already verifies identity at registration and checks vote-by-mail signatures. Proposition 39 adds new ID requirements every time a person votes, creating more ways eligible voters can be delayed or rejected. Black voters and other historically excluded communities cannot afford new barriers.

Planning to return your ballot by mail? We recommend you mail it back as soon as possible after you receive it, or at least 7 days before Election Day to avoid any potential postal delays. After that, consider returning it in person at a drop box location, or head into your local United States Post Office and request a hand-stamped postmark.

RECALL ELECTIONS SHOULD RESPECT MAJORITY RULE. VOTE YES ON PROPOSITION 5.

Today, a statewide official can be recalled by a majority and replaced by someone winning only a small plurality. Proposition 5 makes the recall a clear yes or no vote, with a later election or appointment filling most vacancies. Vote YES for majority rule.
