As this Memorial Day comes to a close and you reflect on the moments that filled your weekend, the laughter, the gatherings, the rest, and the freedom to spend today as you chose, we invite you to pause for just a moment.

Tonight, as you lay your head down to rest, remember that this freedom came at a cost.

Remember the brave men and women who never made it home.

Remember the empty seats at family tables, the stories left unfinished, and the generations of service members whose sacrifice gave us the ability to enjoy ordinary moments that are anything but guaranteed.

At THRIVE, we hold gratitude for those who gave everything and for the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

May we never take for granted the freedoms we live each day and may we honor their legacy not only in remembrance, but in how we care for one another.

Tonight, we remember.
We honor.
We are grateful.

🪡🥑 Pillow making, creativity, and BIG smiles in Bakersfield today!

Our amazing kids got hands on and learned how to make their very own adorable pillows with Resident Services Coordinator Brenda. From choosing fabrics to stuffing and bringing their creations to life, they built more than pillows today… they built confidence, practiced patience, explored creativity, and had a whole lot of fun along the way.

Programs like these remind us that supportive housing is about more than a place to live. It is about creating opportunities for children to learn new skills, express themselves, and make joyful memories in their community.

Great job to all of our young creators and a special thank you to Brenda for bringing another fun and meaningful activity to life for our residents 💚✨

Some people are fighting battles you will never see.

The mom smiling at the food distribution while wondering how she will survive another night of anxiety.
The veteran sitting quietly at bingo trying to silence memories that never stop replaying.
The senior who says “I’m okay” because they do not want to feel like a burden.
The teenager hiding panic attacks behind headphones and a forced smile.
The person who feels completely alone in a room full of people.

At THRIVE, we see you.

We see the strength it takes to wake up when your mind tells you not to.
We see the courage it takes to ask for help.
We see the silent victories nobody claps for.
Getting out of bed.
Showing up to group.
Answering the phone.
Trying again.

Mental health does not discriminate.
It affects people with homes and without them.
Parents, children, veterans, seniors, neighbors, friends.

And healing is not linear.

Some days survival is the victory.
Some days hope is borrowed from the people around you until you can hold it on your own again.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, THRIVE stands with every person who has ever felt broken, forgotten, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, exhausted, or invisible.

Your story is not over.
You are not “too much.”
You are not weak for struggling.
You are worthy of support, compassion, and healing.

And no matter how dark today feels, there is still a future version of you that is thankful you kept going.

If you are struggling, please reach out.
You do not have to carry it alone.

Happy Mother’s Day from THRIVE 💐

This week our community came together to make handmade paper flowers as gifts for the amazing moms, grandmothers, mother figures, and caregivers in our communities. Every flower was created with love, appreciation, and gratitude for the women who show strength, compassion, sacrifice, and unconditional love every single day.

At THRIVE, we know that motherhood comes in many forms, and today we celebrate all those who nurture, guide, protect, and hold families together through life’s challenges. Watching residents laugh, create, and connect while making these special gifts was a beautiful reminder that small acts of kindness can mean so much.

To all the moms in our communities, thank you for all you do. We see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you today and every day. 🌸💕

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At THRIVE, we’re committed to breaking the stigma and creating safe spaces where real conversations can happen. Mental health matters every single day, and so does each and every one of you.

It’s okay to not be okay.
It’s okay to ask for help.
And most importantly, you are never alone.

Every smile, every moment of connection, every step forward, no matter how small, is something to be proud of. We see the strength in our communities, and we stand beside you through it all.

Let’s continue to show up for one another, check in, speak openly, and remind each other that healing is possible.

💚 You matter
💚 Your story matters
💚 Your mental health matters
