It's those first tail wags that keep us going.😍🐾

When we first brought Cotton into our care, he was completely shutdown. We brought him home with us so he could decompress before getting him set up at Muttopia. In just a matter of hours he was a nearly unrecognizable dog from the scared boy we first met.

❤️ Today, he shares a kennel with two of his best friends and every day his darling personality shines brigther. Now, all he needs is a family to call his own. Cotton is currently available for adoption. Help this boy continue to let his spirit shine! Spread the word that Cotton is looking for a family!

Turbo wants to be your ride or die!🐾🚘

Is there anything more loving than a senior pittie? ❤️ This sweet 10-year-old pit bull mix is one giant hunk of love and he's ready to ride off into the sunset with you.

Turbo moves at a slower speed, but still has a taste for adventure. He is incredibly affectionate, walks well on leash, and gets along with other dogs. He is also crazy about toys and never met a treat he didn't like.

Share this post or tag a pittie lover in the comments to help this boy find his ride or die! 🐾

Safe!❤️‍🩹

Welcome, DJ! This sweet boy was just transferred into our care by our incredible partners at Fresno Humane Animal Services. DJ has been suffering from a painful skin condition and an old jaw injury, but today, he is finally going to get the medical care he so desperately needs.

Thank you to the Fresno team for transporting him to Muttopia and surrounding him with love. DJ greeted us with tail wags and kisses. Despite all he's been through and the long journey of healing he has ahead of him, DJ's spirit shines bright!

Please help us welcome DJ. ❤️ We love you, buddy!

Happy tails, happy hearts! 🐾❤️

Help us celebrate these recent adoptions and the face behind so many of our rescues in Mexico. Karina is our incredible rescue and adoption specialist in Mexico. She is the embodiment of true compassion, a person who, in the face of suffering, always jumps into action. Recently, she helped carry out an emergency rescue from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Mexico. The dogs were severely ill, wounded, and emotionally broken down. Not only did Karina help get them to safety, she surrounded them with love and care along the way to their adoption journey.

Karina is often one of the first people to give hope to our rescue dogs before their next chapter begins. Whether getting adopted directly from our Home for Hope in Mexico or traveling to the U.S. for adoption, Karina's boundless love and kindness helps create so many second chances.

Thank you, Karina! We are so grateful for your important work.

Take a look at some of the happy faces of dogs who were recently adopted in both the U.S. and Mexico. 🌎✨ Love Knows No Borders!

It's been less than two weeks since Benjamin was flown into our care for an emergency surgery. Already, he is proof that love saves lives!

At just six months old this boy had already known so much pain. 💔 He'd been attacked by another dog and the it left him blind and with eyes that were causing him immense pain.

We performed surgery and brought him home with us to heal. We surrounded him with love and care.

❤️The surgery removed his pain, but love gave him life. Now, he gets to experience the joys of puppyhood. He is joyous, affectionate, and always greets us with kisses and tail wags.

Thank you to everyone who makes stories like this possible. Love saves lives!

Hearts to the Sky, Sweet Chia: Join Us in Saying Goodbye ❤️

This guy.

Chia came into our care last May after being found as a severely matted stray on the streets of Mexico and in very rough shape. He was thin, coughing, defensive, and had a large tumor below his tail.

With time and gentle care, he softened. As his trust grew, he became goofy and loving, and we had the enormous privilege of getting to know the spirited, dignified older fellow underneath it all.

Chia’s tumor was malignant, and he entered our fospice program. Over the past few months, he was surrounded by love, safety, tenderness, and ease.

Over the weekend, Chia took a turn for the worse, and yesterday we made the difficult decision to say goodbye. He was gently let go, surrounded by people who loved him.

So long, sweet Chia. We are so glad we got to know you, love you, and make things right for you—even if it wasn’t for nearly long enough🌈

We are so glad we got to meet you, love you, and show you the softer side of life. We just wish it could have been for longer.

This adoption update is close to our hearts!❤️🐾

Remember Bosco? We rescued Bosco when he was just a puppy after being discovered in heartbreaking circumstances. 💔 He was living in terrible conditions and his ears and tail had been mutilated. Despite experiencing trauma at an early age, Bosco has always been nothing but love.

He spent nearly a year at the shelter before getting adopted. Our staff and volunteers took an extra liking to this very special boy and he was even fostered by one of our staff members before eventually being adopted by our incredible ACT, Adam.

❤️ Today, Bosco is surrounded by love and living a dog's dream life. He has many dog friends, goes on tons of adventures, and even gets to sleep in the bed.

Adam says, "We give each other so much joy. He is always there to greet me and alway puts a smile on my face when I see him. My other dog loves him and babies him. Adopting Bosco has changed my life in a few ways, the most important one being that he's given me another family member that I can love and have a great time with no matter what is going on. He is a dog who truly shows his love to everyone he is close with."

Help us celebrate this heartwarming adoption! This is what it's all about!

Is this the most darling family or what? 🐾

We cannot get over how much cuteness exists in this family of Meximutts. The underbites! The forehead wrinkles! The tongues! The sweet kisses and goofy personalities!

Help us welcome them. ❤️ They were surrendered to us at our Home for Hope because their person was no longer able to care for them. Despite all that goes into starting a new life, these guys are as sweet and loving as ever. We are grateful to be able to surround them with love while they wait to begin their next chapters!

Taquito needs your well wishes! ❤️❤️‍🩹

On this Meximutt Monday, we want to introduce you to one of our newest residents. Taquito is a darling Chihuahua rescued by our incredible partners in Mexico. He was in really poor shape with a badly hurt front leg that he couldn't use. Unfortunately, the leg was beyond repair, but we were able to remove it so that Taquito could live without pain.

Today, Taquito is recovering beautifully and we are surrounding him with love (He is currently sitting in my lap as I write this.). He loves bully sticks, treats, and kisses. He is an A+ lapdog and wants nothing more than to be with his person.

❤️ Can you help us share some words of encouragement for Taquito as he continues on his healing journey?

We love you, Taquito. You are doing great!
